    Pros

As one of the largest employers in the state of Ohio, Goodyear offers plenty of career development opportunities for top performers and is really trying to be a great place to work.

    Cons

I entered Goodyear through their college recruiting process and entered their sales squad a few years ago. I think their consumer division really tries to provide great opportunities for their newest people. Their commercial group is kind of a mess and they're fairly misleading in their recruiting process. Their 3-5 year retention with sales squad members is pretty dismal for plenty of reasons. I don't regret entering the program, but my decision to leave was the best I've made professionally to date.

    Advice to Management

As a shareholder, I'd be thrilled with Goodyear's 10 year performance. As a stakeholder and as a current Goodyear customer, Goodyear has become among the worst "partners" in our business. I use that term very loosely when referring to Goodyear because partnership simply doesn't exist with Goodyear. Innovation is great and necessary, but certainly not at the expense of your relationships with customers (especially customers who buy 200,000+ units/year). If someone from Goodyear HR is reading this, it's probably not too difficult to figure out who's writing this review. I mean all of this very respectfully and I'm writing this because I care.

    Pros

fun work, rewarding, nice facilities. Large amount of places to move around inside company or travel worldwide

    Cons

-company lacking skilled engineers, most are very good at book work but lack common sense and experience when it comes to manufacturing

    Pros

The pay was good with lot of small bonuses tossed in. Decent benefits.

    Cons

Frustrating computer programs: Difficult to learn, Near impossible to learn everything...ever, too many keystrokes to compose or close a ticket Short staffed by choice, trying too hard to cut overhead for a store front that is open 7 days a week. Policies set in place make it nearly impossible to help your customers resulting in loss of customer trust. Closed only 3 days a year.

    Advice to Management

Wanna keep good people? Don't overwork them. To some, money isn't everything. I'm sure my experience may have been marginally better at a different store.

    Pros

Great company to work for. Talented, experienced individuals. Lots of opportunity for growth within the corporate offices. Very competitive pay. Management does make an effort to encourage progression and development.

    Cons

Not much room for growth in the field outside of corporate offices located in Akron. Field staff do not share all of the benefits of those working in Akron Corporate Headquarters.

    Advice to Management

Working in a division that has not fired or let people go, rather allowed attrition in positions to decrease expenses has put a lot of extra work on small number of individuals. Please look into the benefits of hiring on additional staff where requested, and avoiding hiring freezes as much as possible, in order to improve the work/life balance of employees.
