I worked at Google as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Some of the smartest people in the world.

    Cons

You can easily get lost in the clouds since work and play are blended well together.

I worked at Google as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

The pay and perk were good. Lots of smart people to work with. Good environment. Lots of food. There are free shuttles, free laundry services. People are nice

    Cons

It takes a lot of time to do simple things. I think that it takes a lot of time to do something significant. People are nice, but seem to be very busy with work.

    Advice to Management

My manager was supportive. But he was part time. So, I didn't find him sometimes.

Very enjoyable internship experience in a chill environment with minor drawbacks.

I worked at Google as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great salary and benefits - from the intern housing, food, gyms, etc. Work environment is very relaxed allowing for flexible working hours (great for me since I'm not much of a morning type). High diversity of things to work on as well as work locations.

    Cons

Getting to big/corporate making things sometimes move too slow, whereas it maybe shouldn't. "Googleyness" as a mantra for people to state their opinion as if it is absolute/Google's and use as it was a proper argument. This might be the only thing I didn't like about it's culture.

I have been working at Google as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Work is very challenging, culture is fantastic. There is always something going on and it's easy to get yourself involved in anything, even if it's outside your area of expertise.

    Cons

Be prepared to spend huge amounts of time teaching yourself most of what you need to know. If you can get to know people early, this isn't so bad.

I worked at Google as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Lots of activities, and plenty of time for training courses. Personal calls, printing etc. allowed; even let me borrow an Ethernet cable when I arrived without one. "Tech Talks" that offer a chance to ask Larry and/or Sergey questions.

    Cons

I was a Java programmer not seated near project teammates or other Java programmers, and was on a floor with no cubicle walls. Relied on headphones for noise control whenever I needed to think deeply (which, as an undergrad intern, was more often than for full-time engineers).

    Advice to Management

More emphasis on placing teammates together. More support needed in implementing OSS authentication clients -- would eliminate the need for an F/T engineer on many small internal apps. Employees with Asperger's/ADHD need walled cubicles to control distractions.
