    I worked at Google

    Pros

-Great Benefits- food, gym, time off, good hours
-Lots of opportunities for interns to sit in on meetings, get contact with higher-ups
-Strong intern program in business and engineering
-Can be proud to work at Google, your friends and family will recognize your achievement and looks great on a resume
-Flexibility to work in different departments after a year or two with the company

    Cons

-Actual day to day work not as exciting as it seems (lots of Excel, etc)
-Lots of gossip inside and outside the company that account managers are just "glorified telemarketers"
-Does not pay as well as finance internships though Google would like to compete with these sorts of internship programs at elite schools and campuses
-Does not seem like a place you stick around too long; a young environment with lots of movement and attrition.
-Recruiting process slow, flawed, and disorganized

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Improve recruiting and hiring process- it is the first part of the company to which potential employees are exposed!!

    Pros

Great pay, great projects, smart people to work with

    Cons

Now Google is big or even huge, all kinds of people, hate the bureaucracy there, reminds me of IBM or Microsoft pyramid management

    I worked at Google

    Pros

Awesome perks, really smart people, working with huge data, great hacker culture, good free food, get to work with a lot of cool technologies

    Cons

The company is not very agile and it takes a lot to get features rolled out as soon as possible.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to get it so that people work in terms of subcompanies and make the organization a little bit more flat

    I worked at Google

    Pros

Prestigious place to work in as an intern. Great opportunity to join a real project and actually launch your own code to millions of people around the world. Relaxed atmosphere and plenty of food.

    Cons

The intern-ship programme could be a bit more organised. Also it takes ages for Google HR to react to anything esp. the recruiting process takes too long.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be a bit more organised and focused. Know what you want to achieve because you have a lot of really gifted people getting upset because you suddenly change your decision about their project.

    I worked at Google

    Pros

very dynamic company that allows you to learn a lot
lots of access to information about the company makes you feel empowered
    smart people
    good food

    Cons

    competitive and stressful at times

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Google is building too heavily for power users. Engineers are biased to think that everyone will expect to use products the way they would.
quickly reward employees who go out of their way to do a good job.

I have been working at Google

    Pros

Total compensation is very good. Benefits are good, too. Free food, drinks, and stuff. Very flexible work environment. Flat hierarchy of management. Huge codebases to start with. Good for software engineers to develop skills. Good to put on resume.

    Cons

Work pressure is big. The company likes code better than research ideas. Research progress is slow due to the constraints on the tools.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Google research can be more dedicated on advancing the state-of-the-art to compete with other industrial research labs such as Microsoft Research and IBM T.J. Watson Research Center.
