    I have been working at Grant Thornton International full-time (more than a year)


    Work/life balance is pretty good. All staff is generally friendly. Great holiday party.


    Federal practice tries to figure things out as they go vs. putting together a discernible strategy. Low-end consulting - 99.9% of work is staff aug. "Not invented here" mentality is pervasive. Collaboration feels like an assembly line process - people focus on their respective "part," but don't focus on the overall "machine" being built. Continual "restructuring" of practice leaves feeling of utter confusion, in everything. Career management practices are a joke, and change each year.

    The pay was decent and most of the staff was young and friendly. It was a very social place if you were in the office and not on-site. It's fine if you're just putting a name on your resume before grad school.


    Lack of opportunities for growth, drawn-out and inscrutible promotion process, dead-end engagements, huge turnover. Lots of growing pains--every week it seemed like there was a new "strategy" with some goofy graphic and/or slogan. The whole thing felt staged.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Develop your staff or they will leave. And for the love of God, stop stealing slogans from the US Army.
