    Advice to Management

Positions for MANAGER are posted all over Glassdoor...when applied I was told theyn only hire managers within the company...so why are you posting jobs for management if you only hire stylist currently working for GREAT CLIPS???

Everything is wrong with this salon. He has ruined a family place and turned it into a dictatorship the worst boss I have ever had in my life will curse you out and yell at you all the time!!!! He has never done hair before. He will talk to you like your a child. He's not professional at all!!! Don't ever work for him!!!

I have been working at Great Clips full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Fast paced, decent tips, flexible scheduling

    Cons

Really low base pay with managers that don't really care about the stylists. They only care about getting people through the door. They don't emphasize great haircuts. They emphasize doing quick haircuts and making more money for the store

    Advice to Management

Actually give a care about your employees. If you treat your stylists with respect, you might have happier stylists who give better service

I worked at Great Clips full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They work around your schedule. Christmas time I got a 150.00 bonus.

    Cons

This is the worst place to work ,there's no manger no assistant manger you are left to do everything I would open the store or close the store, clean the store head to toe because very few stylist would clean ,answer phones, check people in as they come, and help new employees with the computer, all while you have a client then they expect your haircut to be under seventeen minutes. There are no pay raises I got one fifty cent raise after six months and I was told my haircuts were not fast enough to even be receiving that. If you need to call in sick the manger over at Rockport will tell you it's your problem to find someone to come in. On several occasions the employees are left in the store alone when it is supposed to be two people at all times. They fired me one month short of a year I've never even missed one day of work !!!

    Advice to Management

Stop using your employees and get a management!!! and pay your key holders

I worked at Great Clips full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Tips... And that's about it. Oh, and some coworkers. Otherwise there aren't any. At all. Whatsoever.

    Cons

Where do I start? The wages suck. The franchisee is a cheapskate and takes form the employees. This franchise is a joke. 12 minutes to cut hair. No raises. Bust your buns daily and it gets very old and very tiring. Managers get fancy trips while us hardworking "lowlife workers" are the reason they got there! Never again...

    Advice to Management

Realize your staff are people too and they bust their nuts to get you recognition and vacations to cabo

I worked at Great Clips full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There was nothing good about working for them. Nothing was guaranteed and couldn't make enough money to live.

    Cons

They would schedule you full time hours but make you call every half hour until they told you they needed you or didn't. Sometimes they tell you they don't need you and call you an hour later to come in then send you home after one or two cuts to get them caught up.They require minimum product sales or you get fired. They do not pay enough. And with the prices they charge, you get that kind of clientele. Cheap.

    Advice to Management

Start treating your employees like they matter and aren't disposable pawns. Realize they are trying to make a living and survive too.

    Pros

    Tips. Tips Tips tips tips

    Cons

Gossips starts from the top down, incessant gossip, especially Marcia (company secratary) when she "helps" out in the salons. Pay is horrid. No chance of moving up....why would one want to anyway? Dirty, lice infested customers.

    Advice to Management

Know that you employees have families, mortgages, real bills to pay. Put competent people in management, please. There are educated stylists, start with them!
