    Pros

    Room for career growth.
    Great Training

    Cons

Management style shift away from original focus on hiring and keeping excellent pack members.

    Advice to Management

More focus on handling problems with individuals instead of punishing entire team.

    Pros

Great atmosphere to work in. Employees were nice and helpful. Everyone is always willing to give a hand in need.

    Cons

Working in the water park was ALWAYS super hot. But you can't help but be hot when you have to keep a facility at 84 degrees and it was summer. It was a miserable time.

    Pros

They want you to be happy so you can make their guests happy. They always do anonymous surveys and give prizes for "exceptional service"

    Cons

Director of department was never there, but had other employees keeping track of our department. So when things go wrong (i.e. a miserable guest, lack of equipment) no one is there to help and we got in trouble. Also poor, poor scheduling

    Advice to Management

    Dont ignore problems with managers/directors

    Pros

Works well with schedule and needed days off. Get free access to waterpark as well as discounts at gyms in town. Parties and perks just for being a worker there!

    Cons

High front end turnover. Lots of employees are younger and this is their first job, so they don't take it seriously.

  7. Good experience overall

    Pros

The people are awesome. I developed great relationships with my co-workers and we would often hang out after work. The work is easy and the pay is good.

    Cons

Working when it is busy can be difficult, especially when there are 2 hour long waits for tables. You never really get relieved to take a break.

    Advice to Management

Great perks, like discounts in the gift shop... though a lot of stuff we wouldn't want to buy.

    Pros

One of the best things is the people. It's very hard to find a place where you can get along with a majority of the people. Somehow Great Wolf has weeded out the riff raff and managed to keep a pretty stellar staff.

    Cons

Moving up has been an issue. Opportunities were presented then retracted without any real reason. Still not sure about some of these issues.

    Advice to Management

I think it should go without saying that any management team needs to open their ears and keep the good employees happy. Stop looking at numbers and dollar signs for a minute because if your employees aren't happy your customers won't be either.

  10. Helpful (1)

I enjoy working with the other lifeguards in a positive and friendly environment. The water park is a fun place to work.

    Pros

The culture of the Lodge is friendly. My fellow life guards are very happy and energetic. The supervisors are very helpful and kind. it is easy to get time off.

    Cons

The wages are only $8/hour. The guests can be somewhat annoying or bossy at times. It is a rather large company so the management is not involved in every operation.

    Pros

Fun culture, people that care. Good pay if you work your way up.

    Cons

Just dealing with crazy guests can be a hassle, employees are mostly good people.

    Advice to Management

Offer some kind of internship for college students.
