    Pros

Who does like fashion? And Guess is a great company to learn a lot more about trends, driving sales and customer service. Great discount.

    Cons

Upper leaders like they like to call themselves think of themselves like aGod, so they like treating their associates with little respect ( at least in my store) there is no motivation and everyday they're are coming up with a different focus which takes away what we really need to focus which is customers and sales.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

People are what make companies, the way the feel where they work is important because good vibes make anything possible. A company shouldn't be ran by who is who's favorite but by who works and shows passion and dedication. I've worked with many great leaders but the ones I have now have just pushed me away we the disrespect and mistreatment of the store manager and one of the cos. it's sad because I thought I would be able to grow old with Guess since the company is great, the people hmmm no that much.

    Pros

Benefits, PTO, On-site gym, on-site cafe, on-site car wash.

    Cons

No room for growth. Raises are rarely given, even when performing beyond expectations. Boring. Don't feel like you are working in fashion.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest in your people before everyone leaves. Change product! Workload is overwhelming. there's only a few people in each department where other companies have an entire team dedicated.

    Pros

The only good things about working at GUESS is the laid-back environment and some of the nice people that work there.

    Cons

No room for growth--promotions seem like they're based on how long a person's been working there rather then experience.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Promote people with qualified experience, not based how long they've worked there or favoritism. Sometimes the person with the longest time working there is still in adequate at their job.

    I worked at Guess? full-time

    Pros

money is ok, people are great, and opportunity is there

    Cons

Can't talk to HR because they are friends with most managers. Long time established company that you need to suck up to the right people and keep your mouth shut and if you don't they will can you. As I was told, anyone could do my job, and my worth is not was currently making. Very degrading and hard to get motivated once you know that you are not worth anything to the company before 8 months and still after that you are worth nothing because they can can you and get someone else in an instant. No loyalty and no regards for the employers. They will pay you out to keep quiet.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Value your employees. Give recognition for the work that they do. Never tell them they are worth less than what they are currently making. Get more golf carts. To walk a mile to work and still get reamed for being 5 minutes late when you arrive at 7:50 (and clock in) is a little ridiculous. Employees are scared to speak with HR and managers as there is no point in doing so due to the outcome of possible discharge from employment. That needs to change. Also, the work load is insane and if recognized, then employee should be compensated accordingly. Have a anonymous drop box for suggestions and concerns. Keep in mind the other employees that are affected by the discharge of employment as that was not a consideration as I can tell, and the poor person taking over responsibility of what i was doing now has an entire job to put in his work load until training for another employee happens. This can become frustrating for that employee to keep training someone and then it not work out. Especially when the last employee that was trained was up to speed and knew more about the line of expertise then the trainer. Think before making final decision. We are people rying to better ourselves and better the company as well. We shouldn't be treated like just another person on the street because we said something that our manager didn't agree with. If an employee has a legitimate concern, and your manager can't help, then we should be advised to go to HR to get out answer rather then being canned. Not lawfully correct and a good way to get a law suite.

I have been working at Guess? part-time

    Pros

Good discount on the clothes. Employee bonus days almost once a month also good.
Get to interact with variety of people, play with fashion and style customers.
Learn a lot about retail/sales industry and basic inner-workings of a corporate structure and business procedures.
Managers can be very understanding, it really all stems on communicating with them.

    Cons

Little to any recognition or appreciation shown to high performing employees.
A lot of politics come into play whether for receiving hours, getting promoted or in how one is treated by management.
Pay is HORRIBLE with high expectations; this is NOT a high end luxury store yet, company would have you wanting to act as if it is. For barely above minimum wage, one cannot log the hours necessary to perform the way they expect individuals to perform or to have this store presented on the level that they want it to be considered.
No commission or opportunities to receive increased pay; even if you are a top performer if you cannot log at least 30 hours weekly (which is impossible if you have bills and expenses to pay for and don't live with your parents) you become "invisible" and "ineligible" for advancement or raises.
Managers can be highly hypocritical with "rules and regulations" and disrespectful to employees; extension of high school with the "have's" and the "have-nots"; can be a toxic environment as a result, employee morale is low.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take more of vested interest in your employees and their needs.
Corporate needs to be more realistic with what is ACTUALLY taking place in their stores, not just looking at numbers and statistics and putting undeserved pressure on lower management teams.
Should be more opportunities for growth and advancement especially for those who demonstrate talent and potential.
If no widespread commission then perhaps some sort of incentive whether it be bonuses for certain people that stay with the company for longer periods of time or some types of bonuses for top performers.

    Cons

    District manager was a nightmare.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be nice to the people that are killing themselves for you on a daily basis. There is a nice way to give people constructive criticism without tearing them down.

I have been working at Guess? part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Generous discount on store clothing and accessories.
    Exposure to international fashion brand.
Fashion forward individuals will enjoy creating new outfits and looks with Guess merchandise for customers.

    Cons

Promotion process is lengthy if existent at all.
Managers and the company do not treat associated well. If your an employee the constantly goes above and beyond for the company expect no recognition, swift pay raise, or special perks for your hard work.
Commission has been removed from stores, so don't look forward to a boost in your minimum wage check.
Monthly contests and associate promotions only provide more money for Guess. Instead of providing me with a check that will basically is a gift certificate for Guess why not give me that money as a bonus in my check for me to decide what to do with.
Time-off/Sick days are non existent if YOU and I do mean if YOU, can not get suitable coverage for your shift.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Value your employees a lot more in order to keep the high performing ones around. I have seen so many amazing performing associated and even mangers quit or move on from the company in the pursuit of something better. This is a job you most certainly can not live off of. For those looking forward to living on your own and moving forward in a career in retail the climb up the ladder seems to stretch on forever.

Different contests for associate to make you more motivated

    Cons

New ideas for improvement are never taken in consideration.
As a part time associate you don't get a lot of hours.
    No commission.
They don't follow up with their promises.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Sales Associates would be more motivated if they'll get a commission on their sales.
