I have been working at Guess? for more than a year

    Pros

Fun events like "Oscar Parties" (photo booth & cotton candy at lunch), Gourmet cafeteria, sample store on site. One hour lunch, on-site gym w/ daily classes (yoga, spinning, kick-boxing...).

    Cons

Very strict about being on time (heard ppl have even been fired for being 5 min. late). Few holidays off. Not much room for advancement, little internal promotion. Low pay for non-upper mgmt. Seems like a good place to learn/gather experience for work in fashion, it just stagnates after awhile.

I have been working at Guess? part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Small shifts, entry level experience. Great brand awareness. Only a specific type of person will fit well here.

    Cons

Drama, management changing time sheets, bullying, mafia-like behavior.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take a closer look at who you are hiring and make sure they are more than qualified not just available.

I worked at Guess? full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

The medical benefits are great. You also get good basic benefits 401K, ESPP and additional restricted stocks or stock options for management.

    Cons

Work life balance is not the best. The work culture measures a good worker based on the number of hours he/she works. In addition some of the management does not like opinions that question the way things are done.

I worked at Guess? part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Good Discount on clothes. While working here, you get 40% everything in the store. On one weekend a month, that discount gets raised to 50% a month. This discount applies to any of the Guess stores. Fun work environment. Most people working there were very nice to one another. High variety of foreign clientele visit this branch, and it is interesting to interact with people of so many cultures.

    Cons

Pretty mundane and boring work... All you do is fold clothes all day until someone asks you to look for something in the back. Lunch breaks are only 15 minutes long, every 4 hours for part- time employees. 15 minutes is hardly enough time to get food anywhere if you forget to bring your own. Employees of the higher end branches can be very snobby. Hardly got any hours working as part-time, even though I was out-selling the full-time employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Plan hours for part-time employees more efficiently.

    Cons

Work culture isn't that great, high turnover rate, barely any time off or benefits

I have been working at Guess? part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Wonderful job when I was younger. Did not have to work weekends, I worked early in the morning and enjoyed not being a sales associate per my work personality.

    Cons

More hours should be allocated to visual workers and stock associates so that they can keep par with company standard. I constantly found myself doing work and projects that would take 20 hours/week to complete yet I would only have two 4-hour shifts to complete. (8hrs). Not store management's fault, it's the district manager's.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I worked at Guess? part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Everyone is young and generally likes fashion

    Cons

Super demanding with meeting sales goal and constantly pressuring employees to meet goal. Almost have to fight with co-workers to help customers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be reasonable with sales goals so we can focus on customer service rather than just selling and making money.

I have been working at Guess? part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Loved my co-workers very down to earth. Managers were understanding with scheduling for school events etc. Everyone worked as a team and motivated me to do my best.

    Cons

Hours are based on sales. My store was not busy so there was a lot of pressure to make sale goals that was unrealistic. I suggest you work at a store that has a lot of traffic or you will have little hours. Feet killed me at the end if the day since the dress code prefers heels. No commission.
