I worked at Gulf States Toyota full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The official company culture driven down from the top is outstanding and the offices are very nice, with a full gym, cafeteria and, of course, a Starbucks cafe. Private, covered parking with 24-hour security makes you feel a lot safer walking to your car at night. The organization in general is full of very nice people.

    Cons

A lot of waste, which I assume happens a lot in a private company. It seems as though they are trying to address this by eliminating "redundancies" which makes for a bit of an uneasy feeling when the person sitting next to you doesn't come back from their "one on one" meeting.

Overall, the executive culture is a fiefdom. The kings stay in their castles, and the pheasants stay in the fields. If considering a position, make sure you get the salary you will be happy with, as 3% annual off base is the norm.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start weeding out the yes-men; they are holding you back. The company could benefit from some thought leadership and better mid-management. The yes-men are more concerned about their careers than developing their teams.
