    Pros

Most, and I express MOST of the people are good to work with.

    Cons

No recognition of doing a good job, 3 days avg of training on a specific job before " go live date" of a project. Bounced around to different desks, projects, groups. Leads and managers are not listening to concerns.
Oh, and HR does not communicate well when asked a simple question.

    Advice to Management

Projects can't survive if there is inadequate training and managers/supervisors don't listen to subject experts.

    I worked at HCL Technologies

    Pros

The pay was good and the job was at a nice company.

    Cons

It was a contracting job with a very big client. Unfortunately there was no one there to make sure the supervisor was fair and no corrupt. There fired many people every week which should have been a red flag that something needed to be investigated. I was apart of that unlucky majority. If you were not liked for any reason that had nothing to do with your work performance they would make up something and say it was your work performance and then fire you. There was no one to talk to, the hiring agency is CDI, and they acted like their hands were tied and just tell you that the client chose not to specifically say why. It is a very sad thing in this day and age that people can cause you to lose your job just because they don't like you.
The client have about 4 people that are really corrupt. HCL did nothing to investigate or find out any further. I was there for 8 months, I missed 2 days-- which was the lowest of anyone there and not even one eyebrow was raised at the sudden firing? The stress that everyone was under because of the constant firing was too much. I heard that it is better now because the supervisor of HCL has changed so that may be a good thing because I saw her a side of her that was very ugly and unprofessional.

    Advice to Management

I understand this is a contract position but doesn't it cost you more money to hire someone else then to work with an existing employee? Also, if there are many firings, get a meeting together and find out what the problem is and maybe do some talking to your employees, the supervisor shouldn't just be able to speak for them. I felt like there was no one to talk to, I had never talked to anyone else but my supervisor so I felt if I went to someone else it would be causing a stir and I would get fired and low and behold, I did anyway. Very sad, I and many others were very good employees.

    Pros

OK if you have little experience

    Cons

Poor training, constantly changing policies, poor communication, poor management, constant back-biting, poor mentors and/or lead techs, more concerned about the number of calls taken than about quality of service to the customer.Shaky contracts with customers = poor job security.

    Advice to Management

De-centralize management control. Hire better managers who are not constantly worried about losing their jobs. Concern yourself with quality of staff and solving customer issues; not how many calls to can blow through in an hour.

    Pros

Good experience working Asp.Net MVC web application. There were a lot of good people working on the project and there was a lot of good interaction.

    Cons

A lot of there projects require developers to sync up with nightly meetings with India. I worked on two projects at HCL and this sync up meeting was required on both of the projects that I worked on. This was a very time consuming requirement and I did not like working on the projects for that reason.

    Advice to Management

Try to come up with a different sort of business model for a project rather than being split up by a US team and a team from India.

    Pros

If the working environment at the client location does not work out. you could switch to a different client.

    Cons

Lesser salary.Appraisal does not mean much.Even if you get the highest rating, hike will be in peanuts.Working environment varies with the client you are working for. You never know when the contract ends and how long you will work in a project.

    Advice to Management

Should recognize and reward talented people working in the organization.
