    I worked at HCL Technologies

    Pros

HCL is a reputed company in India and it is making its mark in the United States as well.
Decent pay, not too much of a work load.

    Cons

Management was my major issue. The manager had a "Boss" complex which I haven't experienced anywhere else. Basically unresponsive and unapproachable with a hint of "Get it done, I don't care how".

Other than that the company culture doesn't suit a fresh graduate. Employees are mainly forty something's which means there aren't many office events/activities

I have been working at HCL Technologies full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    1. The benefits were not execrable.
    2. Valuable learning experience.
    3. I enjoyed the people I worked with.
    4. They supported a healthy work-life balance.

    Cons

HCL has a professed philosophy of EFCS (Employee First, Customer Second): keep your employees happy and they'll make the customer happy. Absurd budgeting mechanisms and rigid top-down management make it impossible to follow through on that admirable goal. There is no corporate "bench" to speak of, and managers are not allowed to make hiring and firing decisions. I was given two weeks' notice five days before my contract ended, and right in the middle of the holiday season, despite the fact that 3 teams had expressed interest in interviewing me.

They implemented solutions always with an eye to increasing the customer's dependence on their services.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Nothing. They're maximizing profits.

Not a good company for experienced professionals

I have been working at HCL Technologies

    Pros

    May be good for freshers.

    Cons

Not a good company for experienced professionals. Salary is 40% less than Software Services industry pay standards. EFCS meaning is completely different from what is being marketed externally. At very higher management level, overhead is really high; and the worst part is the overheads get paid higher.

I have been working at HCL Technologies

    Pros

The only pro is stability, it is very rare to get laid off, there is always another project.

    Cons

Most disorganized, siloed tech company I have ever worked for, never again.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay folks what the market bears or else the superior employees just use you as a stepping stone. You cannot conduct business the same way in the US that you do in INDIA: different environment and different competition.

    I worked at HCL Technologies

    Pros

Freedom to communicate between middle management and client. Able to exercise own methods to meet goals. Great client site to work.

    Cons

Little support from management but constant pressure to improve SLAs. Too many meetings prevent time to work. Continuous requirement to work 24 x 7 without OT pay.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to provide all goals to management at outset.

    Pros

PTO was pretty good. They have different shifts that can work for almost anyone.

    Cons
