I have been working at HD Supply full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

I have many talented colleagues here.

    Cons

Too many org changes. It's like once around 2 weeks at least. Very unstable work environment, and kept in the dark about almost all management decisions before it hits. Glass ceilings everywhere.

    Advice to Management

Reward and pay based on merit and ROI per project instead of the favoritism driven promotions and bonuses. You might have a decent workforce that does more than the bare minimum not to get fired.

    Pros

Salary was good in the field but not for hours required

    Cons

Terrible Medical Plan 14+ Hour Days Constant Stress and Emotional Harassment by Superiors

    Advice to Management

Hire more people and treat people with respect and not like machines - regulating based on favoritism and a mob mentality does not work and it is why they do not keep good people

I worked at HD Supply (More than a year)

    Pros

Easy money, a monkey could've done my work. Most everyone I worked with was extremely friendly and outgoing.

    Cons

Not a lot of room for growth. In 2+ years of employment I received a 2% salary increase. Nepotistic management. I ended up leaving after I could not resolve a discriminatory issue with management, and then HR, instead of fixing the problem they retaliated and became very hostile. Oh and the Phoenix office is a complete dump as well.

    Advice to Management

    Try something else...

I worked at HD Supply full-time

    Pros

There was some room to grow and many locations if you are able to relocate there are endless opportunities.

    Cons

Terrible management, promotions were given to under-qualified and incompetent people causing the turn over rate to be extremely high.

    Advice to Management

Promote people who have the experience and education not just people who have been in the same position for 16 years who still doesn't know how to manage employees.

I have been working at HD Supply full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Frontline associates and managers really strive to do the right thing.

    Cons

Lack of integrity at the highest levels of the organization. Everyone one is afraid they are next up on the chopping block. Don't rock the boat.

    Advice to Management

Look at yourself in the mirror. Do you really care about doing the next right thing?

I have been working at HD Supply full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Mostly Monday to Friday job. Regular pay and less than adequate benefits.

    Cons

Severely understaffed and abusive management team. Even though employees are limited to 8 hours, there is no upper limit on how much work and criticism given to employees. Extremely high turnover where former employees and transferred co-workers are disgusted by the levels of hostility directed at them due to inadequate staffing and other managment blunders. In summary, high stress and high turnover with unhappy former employees. As long as you don't encounter a problem everything is fine. The moment you do encounter a problem, you can expect stone-walling and placing blame on the employee - everything but mgmt owning up and resolving the problem in a professional manner.

    Advice to Management

Management decided years ago that they would rather have upset former advocates talking bad about the company and department rather than to resolve the myriad of problems within this extremely stressful department. Even though it has been suggested, never has a work hours analysis been done and never has anyone said "No, this is too much work for such a small staffed department." Set an upper limit to how much can be performed in a day and take into account all job functions, not just number of cases. Practice what you preach - work/life balance, SPIRIT values, doing the right thing by your employees.

Fairly straight forward all general questions of prior experience and reasons for working for company

    Cons

No complaints all fairly simple and straight forward

    Advice to Management

    Pros

Great co workers that are passionate about the business

    Cons

Used to be a great place to work. Since going public focus is on stock and the not the morale of the team. Benefits are sub par yet performance expectations thru the roof.

    Advice to Management

Please bring passion of the associate to forefront and invest in better benefits
