    Pros

Liked the job, friendly, like family

    Cons

Nothing bad that I can think of except they hired someone from inside for my temp, position, can't blame them.

I have been working at HD Supply as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

As an Intern, most companies give you useless projects to do. At HDS I fel incredibly involved in every aspect of my department. The people are amazing and you really feel like you are a part of a big family. The company seems to truly care about their ideals and pushes every associate to succeed.

    Cons

Changes are incredibly slow to come about because of the high number of managers. There are, in my opinion, too many layers of management to allow for an effectively run machine.

    Pros

I was given a lot of opportunity at HD Supply. Because the company is fairly new, there has been a lot of unique projects to work on, which has been good for career growth.

    Cons

Unique culture that you'll need to adapt to in order to be happy and successful.

    Pros

Great idea - to be the best wholesale building supply company. They have the ability to define the market and be #1 in the world.

    Cons

Too focused on being GE, Motorola, or Home Depot. They should not try to be any of those.

I worked at HD Supply as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

You never feel alone during your internship at HD Supply. With the support of nearly each employee or fellow intern, it makes it a great work environment.

    Cons

Lots of different software available for use but no clear instructions on how to obtain the software or how to use them.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The intern program is fantastic and you should never do away with it. Although it is great to expand the program, it can get pretty chaotic trying to coordinate with so many other interns for projects.

    Pros

A great place to work! The culture and environment there is very friendly, laid back and genuine. All of the employees and managers were kind people and a pleasure to work with. If you enjoy working with others as a team, this is the place for you. This company always has potlucks, activities and fun things for employees.

    Cons

There are a lot if opportunities for growth, but you have to work there a long time before you will get to move up or get promotions. Work Schedules werent very flexible.

I have been working at HD Supply

    Pros

Great benefits and opportunities to advance. There are a lot of contacts and opportunities to network. Everybody is very friendly and focused on making the company the best in the industry.

    Cons

The work environment is fairly fast paced with a lot of pressure to meet expectations. Management has a lot of plans and a strict timeline.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The upper management should spend more time evaluating how corporate decisions affect the lowest level employees and the lines of businesses.

I have been working at HD Supply

    Pros

a growing and solid company with a great future. job security and reconition. the company is very ethical in its business practices. the company is a respected leader in the industry. great benifits and training available for all employees. customer service is superior with a focus of always keeping the customer as top priority. Management is very fair with its employees. Marketing material is always professional and is mailed in a very timely fashion. job performance is rewarded accordingly and all employees are treated fairly. hd supply is a company I can honestly say that i'm very proud to work for

    Cons

the operations of the warehouse and some of its employees. at times there doesn't seem to be any sense of urgency when it comes to taking care of our customers. too many phone calls and follow up with the warehouse to make sure the customer is taking care of. at time it seems nobody in the warehouse wants to own up to taking that extra step to ensure that the customer is fully satisfied. frustrations at times with credit department and inside sales personell of not performing up to standards. perfunctory at best with a handful of internal personell. could be room for improvement

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

focus more on individuals who are underperforming. If they are not working up to their full potential ensure them poor work performance is not acceptable
