    Pros

Focused on digital banking and uses technology at its best

If you opt to work with HDFC you won't have a life of your own. Live for the bank and forget your family and friends. No work timings and work doesn't end.

    Pros

I worked at HDFC Bank full-time

    Pros

Sometimes you may not get any other job, super senior people are of high caliber and like to mentor, job title looks good on cv.

    Cons

Too much office politics, mid-level management is under qualified and feels like they might have come through "recommendation" route rather than on the strength of educational credentials since I had not heard of their educational institutes before joining, infrastructure is shoddy, support teams such as housekeeping, accommodation, administration etc., are lackadaisical and/or inept, intellectual quality of colleagues was sub-standard, work culture is not work oriented since there's too much time spent talking lay affairs like movies, politics and family life, IT hardware including essentials like computer and telephone is old, constantly in need of repair and very often out of order which makes even day-to-day tasks difficult, stationery items such as pens and staplers is not provided and the ones purchased with own funds are frequently being borrowed by colleagues, rating is not objective and is dependent on supervisor's whims, work days are needlessly long, permission is not granted for leaves which employees are eligible for nor is there any leave encashment, claiming expenses is a tedious and drawn out affair, transport is not provided for intra-city travel to meet clients.

    Advice to Management

Should limit hiring to CAs and third rate b-school grads like done earlier.

  11. No work ethos

    Neutral Outlook

I have been working at HDFC Bank full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Get to work in a bank. Fast growing bank

    Cons

No work life balance. Very high sales pressure on each and every staff. Very weak HR, sometimes scared to take a stand on right side.

    Advice to Management

Please look into work life balance, working till 8 on weekends is really not appreciated, also launching a branch without a branch manager will complete new staff and launching a sales pressure is really not done
