A gamut of opportunities for the ones with a lot of patience

Assistant Manager (Current Employee) Bangalore (India)

ProsHDFC Bank is a huge organization with branches spread all over the nation. The work culture, experience and learning varies from branch to branch, role to role and boss to boss. So, the experiences are varying. One of the biggest advantage is that you can learn all that you want to know about banking products. There are training sessions every now and then. If not, you get the literature by mail and you could read to learn. The bank does value employees who perform.

ConsThere is an increased focus on sales, common to all the banks these days. The compensation is not something one can really talk about. Its just there, just enough to live a decent life. Leave policy is again very much dependent on the branch. It depends on the work volume and who will back up for it.

Advice to Senior ManagementMay be, you can consider compensating employees in accordance to the work they do.

A place where your Technical and Managerial skills are put to test.

Assistant Manager (Current Employee) Mumbai (India)

ProsI speak for the IT side of the bank
    - Seniors encourage you to know the all out process, and learn about multiple applications put to use in the bank.
    - Exposure to multiple vendors, allowing to increase your industry contacts.
    - Exposure to a plethora of enterprise grade technologies.
    - Seniors are aware of technologies and at several times serve as mentors.

Cons- Being business dependent, deadlines for activities are stringent and sometime hectic.
    - There may be instances where work - life balance will be out of bounds due to increasing work load.

Advice to Senior ManagementIncreasing the dependencies on Employees rather than vendors.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
