    Pros

Great opportunities to work on complex and high-level public policy issues, and work with some of the best minds in the civil service

    Cons

Exceptionally poor management systems in place mean neglect of personal development and promotion of people who lack any management experience. Employee morale can fall very easily as management chop and change their approach. Pay is poor. Opportunities for profression are limited and highly competitive. Environment is clichey, dismissive and flippant.

    Advice to Management

Value and teach line management skills.

    Pros

    Interesting policy problems, and flexitime

    Cons

bad pay, no promotion prospects, politicians! Lack of moral among colleagues, constant risk aversion and uncertainty.

    Advice to Management

Look at the level of staff turnover and think that this reflects very badly on the institution.
