    Pros

Working at Hampton Inn was a great experience for me in many ways. First off I started in July of 2014 and by November I had learned Laundry and transfered to the Front Desk. I was able to meet all types of new people and got much experience with Front Desk as well as Overnight Audit.

    Cons

The company that I worked for was a 100% guarantee hotel. Which means that if a customer is not 100% happy with their stay they can be refunded. Not such a bad policy but the cameras in the building did not work. Therefore anyone could say anything just to get a refund and the employee has no way to prove otherwise.

    Advice to Management

My advice to management is to have the security cameras fixed as soon as possible and to have a little more faith in their employees.

    Pros

The job was very easy. The computer system is basic and easy to learn.

    Cons

They would try to make me work double shifts all the time. When i refused they proceed to give me all of the worst shift in the weeks that followed.

Former Employee - Front Desk Associate/Night Manager in Manchester, CT

I worked at Hampton Inn full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Meet a lot of interesting guests and you are empowered as an employee to do anything to make a guest's stay memorable and delightful. You also get some hotel discounts, depending on availability and hotel. Easy to accrue vacation and sick time, and are both independent of each other.

    Cons

Insurance offered, but not the greatest. Hotel discounts could be better. Sometimes guests can be insufferable.

    Advice to Management

Please remember that your guests are just that: guests! They are not walking dollar signs. The front desk associates cannot be the only ones who genuinely care about the people who come to stay at the hotels.

    Pros

    - Relaxed environment - Easy - Nice people (most of the time)

    Cons

    - Boring - Mediocre pay - Slow computers

    Advice to Management

My advice to management would be to keep an eye on employees who like to come in late every morning and instead of a slap on the wrist every time, let them go and hire someone who actually wants/needs a job.
