I worked at Hampton Inn full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

One hour break broken up into two 15 min breaks and one 30 min break.
Snacks for sale at work haha.
Once in a while you'll get a 1 or 2 dollar tip, sometimes even more, but not often.
Benefits and discounts on certain hotels.

    Cons

It was hard for me to have the correct uniform and they did not give me one of the new shirts.
It is labor, so if you can't push heavy carts or deal with strain on back then jobs not for you.
You get a list of rooms to clean, its really not easy to get them all done fast enough sometimes based on if people are still in their room, or have it dirtier than others, it really slows you down, so you don't know when you will be off work, its based off when your done with your list of rooms.

I worked at Hampton Inn part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

I loved to talk to the customers and get to know the regular people that stayed.

    Cons

I did not see any room for advancement. I did not like the negative atmosphere of negativity. The pay was horrible for the amount of work they expect from you.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give promotions when they are due. Better leadership and structure would have kept me there longer. Be more understanding about family emergencies.

I worked at Hampton Inn part-time

    Pros

A lot of versatility in terms of position got apply for.

    Cons

Very likely to hit a roadblock in terms of progressing to a better position and not a lot of lead way in terms of making it to work in times of emergency. Regardless of the situation if you can't make it in its very frowned upon.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Find better ways to accomadate employees in times of dire emergency.

I worked at Hampton Inn part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

The employee discount is nice but I never used it. Good place to build experience in customer service.

    Cons

Bad hours, low pay, dealing with customers is never fun and your job is customer service. Especially bad dealing with wedding parties as they tend to complain about EVERYTHING.

    Cons

not much room for personal growth. Payment wasn't that competitive. No specified lunch/break times.

I worked at Hampton Inn full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Felt empowered to take care of customers and felt like management cared a great deal about customer experience. Was rarely second-guessed for doing something. Really enjoyed my coworkers. Worked for a franchise that I felt did a very good job of recognizing employees.

    Cons

Did not see any room for advancement. Atmosphere sometimes felt almost cloyingly positive. At this particular franchise, compensation was about average.

I worked at Hampton Inn full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Great customer service experience. Allowed me to build that experience to move into a better position. The company gave me a way to build my ability to stay organized and pay attention to details that I have used for the future.

    Cons

Bad hours, low pay and no holidays off. Hotels do not close on holidays, so if you choose to work at on be ready to work all hours of the day. Nights are typically okay, except on weekend which are horrendous Five years of service, with not much pay, or bonuses.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do you best to make the employees of all shifts feel valuable.
