    I worked at Hanger full-time

    Pros

Salary quite good Benefits decent - about average for industry Bonuses Management fairly reasonable at corporate office Team building for corporate office good

    Cons

No part time allowed or flexible work arrangements (at least for IT) Corporate parent often very controlling and making short sighted, self-destructive decisions Two years to vest for 401k Health insurance may be average, but still very expensive Subsidiaries/Remote divisions left out in the cold for most everything

    Advice to Management

Either let the companies you have purchased operate with more autonomy, or participate and communicate enough to know what they really need and make decisions that are informed on their behalf. Managing remote companies is inherently difficult - try to stop making arbitrary decisions that waste money and effort and that are ultimately not in anyone's best interest (including your own).

I have been working at Hanger full-time

    Pros

Great people. Not to much stress to meet deadlines. Well ran organization. Care about employees. Get to work at your own pace but need to contribute.

    Cons

They have been going through some changes recently. The turnover for employees is high. They have many contractors that do not turn into full time employees.

    Advice to Management

Listen to what problems or issues that are going on at the staff level. Other than that keep up the hard and good work.

    Cons

Not a lot of sales guidance from senior level. That is changing but it is a slow process

It's enjoyable to help and see patients regain their mobility. Overall, I'm impressed with the employees, and management is responsive to improvements when appropriate. Benefits are good and getting even better.

    Cons

Not many cons to working here. Not sure how the pay compares to other companies?

I have been working at Hanger full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Enjoy what we stand for. Not micro managed. Work hard but set your schedule

    Cons

Janger is in transition and I'm am not sure the executive team has a clear strategy going forward.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the people in the market everyday speaking to real patients and hospitals. It does no good to lock executives that have backgrounds in other industries in a room and have them set the course for our future.

    Pros

Good overall company to work for. Very employee and family friendly. OK benefits. The employees of Hanger are great and care about the company!

    Cons

Career planning is not a strength of Hanger. You can become stagnant if you do not express your professional desires. Not a real dedication to employee education

    Advice to Management

More defined career paths would improve employee commitment to the organization during the lean times

I worked at Hanger full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The people are great to work with. The environment is faced paced and challenging, but there is ample support. One can also transfer to other locations throughout the country which makes relocating much simpler.

    Cons

The training environment was insufficient. The salary was competitive but not amazing. Benefits were OK. The offices are small, so if one does not get along with other members of the team it can be very stressful.

    Advice to Management

The product is amazing, however there are inconsistencies between offices. Training team members could be done a lot better.

    Pros

Empowering Human Potential. Very true statement. Everything in this company is geared toward that goal of giving someone their ability back.

    Cons

It's a shame to see that the IT staff is worked harder than most. The expectation is that you will give up everything for the company. Your time, your family, etc. I've seen too many solid individuals leave because of it.

    Advice to Management

You should take a look at the turnover rate within each of your departments.
