I have been working at Harris Teeter full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Awesome company to work for.
Cons – Often over looked for advancement. Still in favor of the good ole boys mentality or who's son or daughter fits the bill from higher up.
Advice to Senior Management – Listen to what you associates say. Not just the ones you like.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend

I have been working at Harris Teeter full-time for more than a year
Pros – I had one of the best management teams while i was working. The environment was fast pace just the way i like it. My crew was awesome everyone wanted to work so you really had the best people working. The people that is what makes the job. If you had good management and good people you had the ideal job regardless of title.
Cons – Really there is no downside to me except if your a person who lives to work there are not enough hours for you to work. Even with the occasional overtime there is just so much to do.
Advice to Senior Management – My advice to management your doing a pretty good job but you have to promote those who deserve it ones who have put there best foot forward and have proven themselves time and time again before you lose them.

I worked at Harris Teeter
Pros – I realized whole families worked for Harris Teeter, not in the same store, but that speaks highly of the company. Bonus program helps you think in how your job affects the rest of the company. You view everyone, not just shoppers, as your customer. Being helpful to your coworkers promotes a positive atmosphere.
Cons – Although I often worked forty hours a week, they would not promote me to full time so I could attain benefits I needed.

I have been working at Harris Teeter
Pros – Harris Teeter really takes pride in the overall operation of their stores, the professional image they portray and their associates. They are one of the few companies that realize their associates are what make up the company and they really take care of them. They offer competetive pay, health benefits for both part-time and full-time employees, oppotunities for advancement, Bonus Checks twice per year, 401-K Plan, Employee discounts and so much more! They even had an employee appreciation day for us and the Store manager cooked steaks and potatos for us, while other managers washed our cars for us. Hands down, this is the best employer I've ever had. If you are willing to put a little hard work and dedication into your job, no matter what your position.. it will pay off in the end. As their jingle says "It's my Harris Teeter!"
Cons – Its is a public retail job, so therefore you have to work at the demands of the public. If you work at a beach store, it gets incredibly busy in the summertime and then in the winter when things slow down, your hours get cut. Dealing with angry or disgruntled customers can sometimes test your patience (We rarely have angry customers).
Advice to Senior Management – The management staff does a great job at what they do!

I have been working at Harris Teeter
Pros – It's close to home...the people at work, work well together.
Cons – In the five years that I have worked with the company the only downside I would have personally would be getting up at 2 a.m to down stack a truck that comes in at 3 a.m
