ProsYou are put to work from the moment you get employed. Lots of autonomy at work. You have a list of things to do, and you just need to get things done. You run things how you want them.

ConsBudgets are too small, lack of support. District managers only visit to take stuff or complain. Because of the big corporate nature of everything, things take forever to go through. Having to wait an entire month to get your supplies is ridiculous. If the order gets screwed up, you are in a bad situation. Employees are overworked. No direction, lack of experience. Sometimes when they are in need of account managers people are promoted way to early in the training program or do not even go through one. For a company that emphasizes how everyone works from the bottom up, there are a lot of shady things that do go on. Promotions vary depending on people. People who have friends in higher places or are related to higher ups tend to move "faster" with in the company.

Advice to Senior ManagementPut more money into the company, ESPECIALLY START-UPS. If you want anyone to succeed give them lots of help in the begining.

ProsThe best thing about working at a nursing home is the residents. Hearing their stories, and secondly, building a good staff.

ConsLong hours. No upper management support. Monthly budgets for linen, supplies terrible. They offer little pay to their front line workers

Advice to Senior ManagementOpen up the pay scales to the front line workers, too much "favoritism" in the upper levels of management. Being "on call" all the time, and having to report every weekend to your DM sucks. Poor pay for Account Managers.

Advice to Senior ManagementCompensate management accordingly for the work and hours they put in. It is a very easy job to become 'burnt out' with and very easy to lose motivation when you are not compensated in any way (money, praise, etc.).

ProsGood company to ge a start and learn how to manage people. I would recommend it for the recent college grad but start looking soon.

ConsPoor pay and even worse benefits. Health Insurance program is a bust and they will promiss you the world but return nothing.

Advice to Senior ManagementMake an effort to pay better. Improve benefits package and back up you promisses to employees. Maybee not increase dividents to shareholders every quarter and invest in your management.

ProsA very stress free job that does involve some pretty great people. Work/life schedule is very good.

ConsPay is terrible. College education is not really required (even though it is suggested) Feel like you're wasting your education. Feels like a boys club with frat house guys

Advice to Senior Managementmanagement is actually pretty good. Could help out account managers better, and increase pay

ProsSome what set your own schedule. Left alone if things are going well.

Consfor your building to look the way it should you are going to have to work more than 40 hours a week. There has been talk about promoting me for a while, but I have yet to see any evidence of that. I was also made to believe that I was a valued employee that they where compensating much more than others. Turns out that was false. I recieved one week of training and that is being generous and then I was thrown into my own building, and left to figure it out. Benifits sucks, I felt so bad when my employee came to me and said she has to pay 100% of her surgery becuase our insurance would not cover any of it.

Advice to Senior ManagementUse your Account Manager training program. Take better care of your subordinates and then you wont have such a high turnover ratio.

ProsMonday thru Friday work schedule. Getting off by 5 at the latest everyday.

ConsAnything and Everything. Corp sucks. No money available because the upper management has to have their bonuses and drinking money. Budgets are run way, way to tight. Never have any supplies to satisfy the client. Totally poor run company.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop spending all of the money that should be going to your Account Managers and frontline staff on boozing it up with "clients". If you want to avoid so much turnover in the company start paying people what they are worth. Managers aren't janitors and shouldn't be treated like one.

ProsThe ability to get time off when truly needed can be fairly easy. However everything you needed to do will go undone until you get back so cannot go away for long.

ConsThere is no HR department, The responsibility is on the District and Regional manager who are always very close. If you call the Copoerate office to speak to HR they will give you to any random person from accounts payable to benefits then he or she will just end up calling the Regional Manager.
 All of your employess start at minimum wage and there is very close to no chance of ever getting a raise. It is not uncommon for an employee of three years or more to get turned down for a raise.
They have benefits but to get medical insurance for me a healthy 25 yr old it would cost over $500 /month.

Advice to Senior ManagementGo to College!
This company is proof that only hiring from within is not always a good option.
