    Great Place to Work

    Financial Analyst (Current Employee)
    Melville, NY

ProsI rarely have to work more then 40 hours a week and get paid well for my position and years of experience. I really enjoy the people I work with, but like with anywhere your experience definitely depends on your manager and director. Stress level is relatively low most of the time although it kicks up during the times when our department is most busy. We get lunch bought by the company a good amount which is nice when you are super busy.

ConsI wish I got the opportunity to travel a little whether it would be to satellite offices or to go to seminars/conventions.

Advice to Senior ManagementIncrease the amount of money allocated to tuition reimbursement.

    a nice place to work

    Marketing Associate (Current Employee)
    Melville, NY

ProsIts a nice place to work and the people are pleasant. The benefits are pretty decent although like most places, you pay more and more for health coverage, and less and less is covered.

ConsThe starting salaries aren't very high, and you will have a hard time getting an increase.

    Love the one you're with.

    Sales Representative (Current Employee)
    Reno, NV

ProsThe people I work with each day are the reason I keep coming back for more. The benefits cannot be beaten and when the economy turns around you can't beat the company.

ConsWith the economy in the toilet eveyone is feeling the pinch. It is sometimes an uncomfortable position to be in but I think that's the same everywhere right now.

Advice to Senior ManagementRemember that sales people are the driving force of the business.

Working for Henry Schein provides quality of life

    Staff Accountant (Current Employee)
    Melville, NY

ProsIt's local, so the commute isn't bad at all, and the benefits are decent. The best thing about Henry Schein is the people. The people and the culture are the reason I stay. They are also very understanding about personal crisis when they arise. I'm sure if you were to abuse that, they wouldn't be so understanding, but it seems to be that accross the board, in every department, at every level, it is understood that you have a life outside the office and if a crisis arises, you're expected to take time off to deal with it.

ConsIt's getting larger by the day, so sometimes, it's difficult to get noticed. And it's getting more hierarchical as it gets bigger. And the bigger it gets, the more pigeon holed the jobs seem to get, so you have to move around departments to gain different experiences, whereas when they were smaller, you could stay in the same department and get a variety of experiences.

Advice to Senior ManagementYou're doing a great job leading us in the right direction. I've seen the company grow tremendously since joining. I feel like an important and valued team member.
