    Pros

Headaches and politics and constant fear of management

    Cons

You're job is just a leverage tool so management feels good and if you don't play along you will be fired or drivin to quit nobody in upper management will help you and hr is in lockstep.i know this to be true as i am a former victim of shine culture.even though terminated for sticking up for myself when know one else would management once again protected their own and threw me away.

    Pros

paycheck clears every time. Some of the people are Great to work with.

    Cons

5 years and the last two have been so wrong. Management does not know how to manage but they do know how to stick the knife in your back. Only thing that matters at this corp is how much green you bring in. The managers will make stuff up to get you fired if they don't like you. Oh the men managers don't like women they think they are below them. Don't even think about working for them they will have you in tears in no time..

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get a clue on how people should be treated. Get with the time times and stop running your billion dollar Co. on Dos programing duh....

Former Employee - Medical Sales in Reno, NV

    Pros

Nothing positive could come from this company.

    Cons

Micromanaged, commission structure that is impossible to figure out and very disappointing. No matter how hard you work, your commission won't go up. No incentive for improving. No where to move. Systems are extremely out dated and hard to navigate. For ordering some special order items they require experts, these so called "experts" struggle with the ordering system to place the order. some take weeks to go through.

Health benefits. nice facility with air conditioning.

    Cons

Under average pay, too many politics, and no upper level support when you need it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay your workers more, and don't judge a situation without sitting down with the parties involved.

    Great TSM's, Horrible "leadership"

Former Employee - Inbound  in  Sparks, NV
Former Employee - Inbound in Sparks, NV

    Pros

The Inbound team members work tirelessly for this company, often without thanks or recognition and frequently without support from the “leadership” or IM group. The “quality” that the customer receives starts with the Inbound team’s hard work. This team deserves better support from local “leadership”, senior management and the IM group.

    Cons

Originally when I took over the position I felt the biggest challenge would stem from lack of systems and discipline of the team. However, I quickly realized that inflated egos, dirty office politics and administrative incompetence would prove to be bigger obstacles. The total disregard for professionalism, honesty, integrity and values demonstrated by the “leadership” of this Distribution center take away from the positive experiences and cheapens the “Henry Schein Values” that are preached but not followed. These dynamics are not conducive to building a strong team, innovation or productivity.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Clean house. Change the negative and deceitful “leadership” culture within the DC. Listen to complaints of current and former TSM's and leadership.

    Pros

hard working people at the D.C. level

    Cons

Corporate is corrupt and greedy. They create a culture where management is trained to belittle and dehumanize the everyday worker.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Not one person in management cares about anything other than their own salary and bonuses created on the backs, sweat and labor of the employees.

Former Employee - Administrative Assistant in Chatsworth, CA

    Pros

Bad salary, over work and many willing to stab you in the back so there are no pros

    Cons

Raises were always no more than 5% and usually 1% and sometimes zero company wide. Employees are asked to spy on each other and management pushes beyond human levels in order to earn their bonuses. When positions are eliminated the responsibilities are just added to another making that person have double and triple work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try honesty for something new. The climb to the top is not worth your soul. Learn to appreciate dedication and grow up as selfishness is for very young children.

Current Employee - Outside Sales Representative
Current Employee - Outside Sales Representative

    Pros

    Good life and work balance

    Cons

Managers have no experience in management, territories are soft so you have to fight over accounts with other reps either outside or tele. Management does not follow through with plans, throw you out to the wolves when you are hired. Poor training program. Your voice is not heard.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire managers that know the products their reps are selling, managers should know how to manage their team and be supportive, as well as know the sales process and key decision makers that reps should turn to in certain situations.

Former Employee - Sales Representative in Boise, ID

    Pros

Great products, Sales promotions, specials, due to international size of company. Lots of training.

    Cons

Watch out! Like to motivate by creating internal competition & chaos. Will not fire due to legal concerns, so will cut draws, split territories, hire new, to push someone out. "Good old boys network" when it comes to mgmt. If you disagree or raise your hand, you are done. Your #'s better be good every qtr, evry yr. Have pushed good people out after many solid yrs. Lots of hidden chargebacks to sales person. If you are going to work here, dot your i's & cross t's because promises never materialize.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop protecting mgmt! Way to many managers! You are not to big to fail. Get back to small company business basics.
