despicable&vindictive

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

I have been working at Henry Schein as a contractor for more than 5 years

Prospaycheck clears every time. Some of the people are Great to work with.

Cons5 years and the last two have been so wrong. Management does not know how to manage but they do know how to stick the knife in your back. Only thing that matters at this corp is how much green you bring in. The managers will make stuff up to get you fired if they don't like you. Oh the men managers don't like women they think they are below them. Don't even think about working for them they will have you in tears in no time..

Advice to Senior ManagementGet a clue on how people should be treated. Get with the time times and stop running your billion dollar Co. on Dos programing duh....

Poorly managed, outdated systems.

Medical Sales (Former Employee)
Reno, NV

I worked at Henry Schein full-time for more than 3 years

ProsNothing positive could come from this company.

ConsMicromanaged, commission structure that is impossible to figure out and very disappointing. No matter how hard you work, your commission won't go up. No incentive for improving. No where to move. Systems are extremely out dated and hard to navigate. For ordering some special order items they require experts, these so called "experts" struggle with the ordering system to place the order. some take weeks to go through.

One that I would like to forget.

Materials II (Former Employee)
Jacksonville, FL

I worked at Henry Schein full-time for less than a year

ProsHealth benefits. nice facility with air conditioning.

ConsUnder average pay, too many politics, and no upper level support when you need it.

Advice to Senior ManagementPay your workers more, and don't judge a situation without sitting down with the parties involved.

Great TSM's, Horrible "leadership"

Inbound (Former Employee)
Sparks, NV

I worked at Henry Schein full-time for more than 3 years

ProsThe Inbound team members work tirelessly for this company, often without thanks or recognition and frequently without support from the “leadership” or IM group. The “quality” that the customer receives starts with the Inbound team’s hard work. This team deserves better support from local “leadership”, senior management and the IM group.

ConsOriginally when I took over the position I felt the biggest challenge would stem from lack of systems and discipline of the team. However, I quickly realized that inflated egos, dirty office politics and administrative incompetence would prove to be bigger obstacles. The total disregard for professionalism, honesty, integrity and values demonstrated by the “leadership” of this Distribution center take away from the positive experiences and cheapens the “Henry Schein Values” that are preached but not followed. These dynamics are not conducive to building a strong team, innovation or productivity.

Advice to Senior ManagementClean house. Change the negative and deceitful “leadership” culture within the DC. Listen to complaints of current and former TSM's and leadership.

Should have seen it from the beginning

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

I worked at Henry Schein full-time for more than 3 years

ProsSome people were nice. Some leadership respected you. Unfortunately they were my managers.

ConsTreated people like tools to be used and then discarded when they served their usefulness.

Unable to see talent, too focused on having an education over work experience.

Blatant office politics. Stabbed in the back by people you were trying to help.

If you don`t trust your managers and staff, then it is time to go.

Advice to Senior ManagementTrust the new staff, they see everything that the old staff complains about. Have a plan for the future of your business. Stop living day to day.

Five Years of dedicated hard work ended in getting fired as I was NEVER good enough

Administrative Assistant (Former Employee)
Chatsworth, CA

I worked at Henry Schein full-time for more than 5 years

ProsBad salary, over work and many willing to stab you in the back so there are no pros

ConsRaises were always no more than 5% and usually 1% and sometimes zero company wide. Employees are asked to spy on each other and management pushes beyond human levels in order to earn their bonuses. When positions are eliminated the responsibilities are just added to another making that person have double and triple work.

Advice to Senior ManagementTry honesty for something new. The climb to the top is not worth your soul. Learn to appreciate dedication and grow up as selfishness is for very young children.

Poor management support

Outside Sales Representative (Current Employee)

I have been working at Henry Schein full-time

ProsGood life and work balance

ConsManagers have no experience in management, territories are soft so you have to fight over accounts with other reps either outside or tele. Management does not follow through with plans, throw you out to the wolves when you are hired. Poor training program. Your voice is not heard.

Advice to Senior ManagementHire managers that know the products their reps are selling, managers should know how to manage their team and be supportive, as well as know the sales process and key decision makers that reps should turn to in certain situations.

Strongly Consider your options before taking this job

Field Sales Consultant (Former Employee)

I worked at Henry Schein full-time for more than a year

ProsTraining
Company culture of caring for its employees

ConsLow salary
Near impossible to grow territory in a mature market with established relationships
Unlike other similar opportunities, HS, does not give you a budget, everything you spend on your prospects/customers comes out of your personal budget
Unless you are a recent college grad with balls of steel, I would look elsewhere

Very political, internal competition, Good old boys Mgmt network.

Sales Representative (Former Employee)
Boise, ID

I worked at Henry Schein

ProsGreat products, Sales promotions, specials, due to international size of company. Lots of training.

ConsWatch out! Like to motivate by creating internal competition & chaos. Will not fire due to legal concerns, so will cut draws, split territories, hire new, to push someone out. "Good old boys network" when it comes to mgmt. If you disagree or raise your hand, you are done. Your #'s better be good every qtr, evry yr. Have pushed good people out after many solid yrs. Lots of hidden chargebacks to sales person. If you are going to work here, dot your i's & cross t's because promises never materialize.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop protecting mgmt! Way to many managers! You are not to big to fail. Get back to small company business basics.
