    Pros

Long term benefits pay off. Lots of responsibility early in career. Interesting, large projects. Employee owned.

I worked at Hensel Phelps Construction full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits. Hired on after successful completion of internship which yielded a vast knowledge of the industry. Company work path is that of one who must earn their right to advance. Company believes with hiring within the company. Company going through transition to better serve its employees and provide activities to boost moral. Co-workers are very knowledgeable and offer great advise and training to their employees.

    Cons

Advancement in the company can take longer than expected. First 4-5 years of employment equate to a trial period where they can, or you can, leave the company and not get the benefits they praise about. Younger employees should be treated better to develop a mindset to stay with the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider offering promotions sooner to allow for greater advancement within the company. Provide ESOP benefits sooner than five years after hire and provide better communication to through the chain of command.
