    Pros

    Many employee incentive and involvement programs

    Cons

    Very poor training and new employees are treated as if they are beneath the long-time employees Many will not even acknowledge new employees for months. Employees are expected to work long hours and overtime regularly.

    Advice to Management

    Treat everyone as equals including those who are newly employed, perhaps actively initiating interactive involvement between new hires and long timers would be helpful. Train employees to be knowledgeable about what they are doing not just expecting them to perform as robots to get the work done, a little knowledge could make people more efficient and doing what they are hired to do.

    I worked at Heritage-Crystal Clean LLC full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    The base pay on commission were off the charts. Money is great. But...

    Cons

    No life. When short staffed we were putting in 70+ hours a week. No time to enjoy the money we made. Also, management got upset when service drivers weren't making sales goals. There is no time for sales when 10-12 hours a day is spent servicing current accounts.

    Advice to Management

    Hire sales people and more service people to balance things out. While you're sitting at home with your families enjoying a cold beer and making six figures, your employees are still on the road busting their backs. Give them some help.

    Pros

    Good pay and benefits lots of OT if you want it and days off, great bunch of co-workers , and pay once a week

    Cons

    Horrible working conditions, very vindictive dept heads, very high turnover from.employees being just fed up and far more fired on.the spot if you voice opinions to.dept heads

    Advice to Management

    Talk to employees and see why moral is so.low and turnover so.high

    Company pays upper management well

    Cons

    Branch Managers work like dogs,. Need to have their back, but they don't. There does not seem to be any training - except by the manager, who is overworked already. There does not appear to be a HR department.; Company treats their drivers unfairly, while preaching how the drivers are the business.....mmmm

    Advice to Management

    Get rid of the dead weight (upper management) and get some people at the branches - administration, assistants manager, etc.., drivers. Additionally, start a program " Train the Trainer" instead of the branch managers having to train everyone. There is too much of a turnover in this company for that. It is a waste of time and money for the branch. Have middle management support their branches, instead of sitting at a desk shooting off emails to the branch managers.

    I have been working at Heritage-Crystal Clean LLC full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Decent pay, good benefits, corporate lodging card, advancement opportunities.

    Cons

    Upper management. Too many key players were brought over from SK that ran them into bankruptcy, now we're headed in the same direction. "Leadership by intimidation" is how the top brass run, as if we're still in the 70's! Pay is heavily performance based, creates an environment that is unsafe and high stress. Poor pay for the work and hours required, lack of proper training, constant price increases, overpriced services, run-down facilities, unrealistic growth expectations, recent "pay enhancements" that brought down all employees' pay, BM's have to pay for all expenses and supplies and wait a month for reimbursement and little to no guidance or help from upper management when needed. Not to mention, just when you start to get close to your quotas and start making more money the quotas miraculously go up!

    Advice to Management

    Please do us all a favor and enjoy your retirement. Yes, you've grown our company to what it is today, but with the way you're running it the future doesn't look good. Everything we do is a copy of pre-bankruptcy SK, don't you remember how that went? Listen to your employees, completely overhaul your self-serving pay plans and treat your employees like people instead of minions. Nobody likes working for money hungry dictators!

    Pros

    Great opportunity to make your own paycheck. Proper training, safety conscience. There are some great people within the company but they know they can not push too hard or say anything wrong.

    Cons

    Everyone top to bottom out to take your position, can not trust anyone. Very long hours that don't equal the pay. Regional Managers hound from their position down and expect the same from their managers onto reps. What have you done for me lately mentality. Will "find" a way to fire someone if need to. They preach ethics but when it comes down to it, very UN ETHICAL, funny how money changes "ethics". Very high stress and pressure placed on all employees at branch level all day every day. If anyone tells you different it's RM or Above preaching for others and looking for glory. Slowly turning into SK month by month.

    Advice to Management

    none to give, they wouldn't listen anyway.

    Pros

    Generally good commission structure. Good equipment and excellent benefits. Good opportunities to move around the company. A few industry leading products.

    Cons

    13-16 hour days. No support from middle management and above. Everything falls on the Branch Manager. Severe disconnect between corporate and field personnel. Branches are under staffed. Pricing is not competitive. Company places unrealistic expectations on field personnel.

    Advice to Management

    Hire key branch support personnel such as admin and warehouse people. Lead and train instead of tearing down. Stop running everything on a shoe string budget.
