Former Employee - Recruiting Manager in Park Ridge, NJ

    Pros

Hertz was pretty good at promoting from within and elevating their biggest asset, their employees, into higher positions with more responsibility and benefit. The company was progressive in their approach to stay ahead of the competition and be innovative in their space.

    Cons

There is no clear cut, outlined, training and it is a very hands on, learn while you go job. While this can have it's benefits, it also has drawbacks that can ultimately lead to increased turnover. Work life balance is very tough during peak periods.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Better focus on training will lead to an improvement in turnover among new hires and positively impact the over turnover for employees within their first year on the job.

    Pros

Great mid level to senior management. They truly want you to succeed. Starting in reservations is a great way to get your foot in the door and move up within the business. They prefer to hire within, and pay increases depending on how many different departments you learn.

    Cons

24 hour environment. Working in a call center for 8 hours with no windows can become difficult. Outside areas are not always clean.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep up the good work

    Pros

Veteran company with great benefits, full time employment, bonus plan, set schedule, holidays off, opportunities for promotion, achievements acknowledged and celebrated, family oriented, team focused. Multitude of job placement options. Meeting and building relationships with accounts and businesses in your area.

    Cons

Tough to keep supply up with the demand of a constant growing business.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Stick to bonus payout schedules.

Current Employee - Assistant Branch Manager in Miami, FL

    Pros

Great learning expericence for those fresh out of college, decent benefits, great co-workers... It's super fast faced and the days (and years) go by quickly. Great opportunities to work for your money; a majority of pay is commission and bonus.

    Cons

One -man show, long hours, work some holidays, high employee turnover, undercompensated, questionable morals throughout the company, hard to get out - you work so much, it would be like a second job looking for a job

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Buy new cars more consistently, treat employees like they are valued, pay employees on time, try to foster appreciation even at low levels

    Recommends

Current Employee - Talent Acquisition Coordinator in Park Ridge, NJ

    Pros

I really enjoy working here. I started as a temp and then was later hired to a full time employee. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. Enjoy the complex and you meet someone new everyday.

    Cons

When I started there was no training and basically had to figure things out myself, which was a waste of time. Need better training for new hires in their field. Also, the company is moving from Park Ridge to Southwest Florida so if you want to move to warmer weather this would be an excellent opportunity to apply for open positions.
