    Pros

The leadership and management I have had the opportunity to work with at Hewlett-Packard have been second to none. They are eager to empower their employees and are truly seeking their customers benefits equally along side the success of the company.

    Cons

    The workforce is very dispersed.

I have been working at Hewlett-Packard full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

HP is a great place to work as they provide flexible work hours and has great benefits

    Cons

Company is not where it needs to be in regards to new product innovation and profit margins. As a result, they are continuing to reduce their workforce.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Feeling is senior management is receiving all the benefits (salary, stocks, bonuses) at the expense of the individual contributors

I have been working at Hewlett-Packard full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Several things to do within the company; very flexible work/home life structure; excellent benefit options; great history with the company, and several employees to learn from.

    Cons

Company is too large with too many business units; innovation is stagnant outside of Hardware; software vision competes within business units and company strategy.

I have been working at Hewlett-Packard full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

This is a Large Global company. Lots of access to web based training and information. The pay is decent. People are great to work with. Health care is good. They allow you work at home depending on your role.

    Cons

There is a constant focus on working on billable work/projects. It seems like there is cost cutting efforts that come every fall. HR managers some times have way too many people under them to be able to focus on you.

I have been working at Hewlett-Packard full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Despite all the negativity, it is actually a pretty decent place to work (at the Sunnyvale site) - there's a fabulous gym, snacks available, etc. The people who work there are generally nice and smart. If you keep working hard, and make yourself heard, there is scope for professional growth and promotions.

    Cons

The management changes, attrition, some of the wrong-headed policies for promotions. Compensation could be and should be much better, if they want to compete in the modern silicon valley market.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Compensate existing employees well, hire aggressively, make the place more positive. If you stop shooting yourself in the foot and put the company on cruise-control, it'll blossom.

I have been working at Hewlett-Packard as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Great projects as a HP Intern. You can really learn a lot about applying your academics here.
Be proactive and you will flourish. Superb mentors and supportive bosses especially HP Lifers who know the company inside -out.

    Cons

A big machine. Hopefully the HP split will resolve the bureaucracy and the processes to move into a more agile organization .
Your parent ' Google or Facebook' firm. Needs to revitalize its product lines and move from the commodity status

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Balance employee expectations with strategic vision. It appears as if every CEO is looking at HP as a testing ground and launching pad for future careers.
Solidity at top is the need of the hour.
