    Pros

    The mission of the company is very easy to get behind and support. The work gives the employees a great sense of accomplishment because you know in the end the true customers are the patients.

    Cons

    Very stressful environment. Little to no work-life balance. Professional salaries are good, although not always in line with the expected responsibilities. And the pace of change is very rapid- which is not always a bad thing, but more often than not it is because the control and integration planning is typically poor. Also, leadership does not seem to embrace team members perspectives.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to your people. They want this company to continue to succeed and have ideas.

    Solid financially and has opportunity

    Those opportunities are not open to everyone only to those who are yes men

    Be open to all who are successful not just that follow blindly.

    Pros

    The people are some of the most friendly intelligent coworkers you could ever ask for.

    The work is fun and satisfying knowing you could make such a difference in someone's a healthcare experience

    Cons

    The bureaucracy is phenomenal. I feel like we never got anything done because they were too worried about version control.

    Advice to Management

    chill out! Stop worrying about the size of car someone rents, and start worrying about whether or not the product is ready to go.

    Pros

    Market leader, number one in very profitable healthcare business. Has capital and market power to do many things to continue to grow.

    Cons

    Physical location. Batesville IN is very rural. Dairy Queen is the best restaurant in town. Town is not the most progressive or open-minded place you've ever lived in.

    Advice to Management

    Create a satellite office in a major metro, youll get many more well qualified candidates.

    There are Good benefits, work is exciting. Good medical and dental policy. Cafetaria has ping pong table, pool table. work hours are flexible.

    Cons

    Disrespectful manager. Was warned before joining but didn't take seriously. Found out the hard way/

    Pros

    Hill-Rom provides excellent products/services to our medical facilities.

    Cons

    They don't adequately compensate lower-level employees, especially when it comes to bonuses.

    Advice to Management

    Trust in your managers at the operation level to make personnel decisions on whether to retain or terminate employees for substandard performance...regional managers always don't have the best interest at heart.

    *Compensation is good for Field Managers
    *Bonus program is good for Field Managers if company makes projections
    *You can create change in the area you control

    Cons

    *poor area leadership
    *work life balance is ok, but it is the medical device field, people aren't sick 9 to 5
    *metrics more important than making change

    Advice to Management

    don't promote people simply because they have been there a long time. Area management many times are unaware of what is happening in their own territories.

    Pros

    It is a good paying company, with good benefits and hard working employees. Many newer management appointees who seem to be changing the direction of company.

    Cons

    They continue to build around the bed business, there are less expensive quality competitors in the field and the company stills seems to live for the old days when they were the only game in town.

    Advice to Management

    Continue to diversify the offering

    Create a strategy for the company. Nobody in executive managent knows what Hill-Rom wants to be when they grow up.
