I have been working at Hilton Worldwide full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Employee discount program, benefits are ok and working with the hourly employees who do all the work, get no praise or a simple thank you yet remain so kind and hospitable to the guests and each other.

    Cons

I've never worked with a group of senior leaders who are completely unethical in every sense of the word and who violate so many of their own policies and are still employed because they stick together and will get rid of anyone who doesn't see things their way.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Corporate needs to come in and clean house. There is nothing hospitable about the upper management and you should really go find another job or practice what you preach all the time.

I have been working at Hilton Worldwide full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    Big brand name
    Good vacation benefits
    Global reach
    Good pay

    Cons

    Political, matrixed organization
Little to no leadership at upper management level
Hotel stay benefit is a joke
Work carries no meaning or purpose. Strictly focused on $ and not leading.

I have been working at Hilton Worldwide full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Gaining experience. PTO works well.

    Cons

PC Culture dominates. HR seems more interested in filling positions with bodies than having quality workers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

would be an advantage to go out of your way to retain hard workers and be rid of lifers that may show up, but do not perform well.

I have been working at Hilton Worldwide full-time for less than a year

    Pros

OnQ is a very good Property Management System and easy to use.

    Cons

Working for Hilton was the goal I had while I worked front desk at a low budget independent property for many years. The hospitality industry will most likely make you hate people. Hilton was sadly no better. Low pay (around $10 with experience) for a lot of headache and stress. Standing all day, being busy juggling phones and dealing with cranky travelers who often yell and complain is no way to live. I had to get out.

I worked at Hilton Worldwide full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great hotel discounts! if i stayed travel my discounted rate would be $29 a night and my family also got a better rate. The discunt is really the only bright stop for working there.

    Cons

They do not care an ounce about thier employees. They pay and treat housekeeping like crap and the Front desk agent no much better.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay you're employee's something they might be able to live off of.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pros

Opportunity to meet people from all over the world. Encouraged to make the best decision for the guests needs. Enjoyed working with co-workers...we helped each other when needed.

    Cons

Long hours, not enough help, no management involvement especially at night...you were on your own. The GM needs to be more engaged with managers and guests needs.

I worked at Hilton Worldwide full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Hotel discounts, free food, benefits (if you are full time)

    Cons

    Management
My immediate manager was awful. He pawned all of his work on me and my fellow coworker while other employees slacked off. Any issues brought to him were ignored. We were lied to about raises and work performance. He would often talk about they employees behind their backs. The restaurant was very unclean and had an awful stench. I think that if this was a corporate location, it would be so much better, but the location I worked at was a franchise and definitely did not live up to Hilton standards.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more proactive and listen to your employees when they have issues, try to resolve issues

I have been working at Hilton Worldwide full-time

    Pros

I get a paycheck every 2 weeks. Insurance is offered. A few of the other employees are amazing people that I'm glad I have met.

    Cons

The turnover rate here is ridiculous. Favoritism and double standards run rampant. Communication is always an issue.
