Overall, Hilton is a good company to work for, if you're not concerned about how much money you make.

    Pros

Hilton has great benefits and the employee travel program is probably one of the best. You are able to get free rooms, if the hotel you choose is owned and managed.

    Cons

I don't feel like they pay enough for the amount of work that you do. The turnover rate is very high.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be willing to compensate people for what they are worth.

    Pros

Good benefits and good friendly co workers. There is money to be made there.

    Cons

Some co workers and managers will stab you in the back and throw you under the bus in order to cover their butts and make them look better.

I have been working at Hilton Worldwide full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great company, great people. Long standing hospitality vision

    Cons

from a digital marketing stand point, they are about 10 years behind. Very fragmented organization. Many departments do the same thing, which causes a lack of ownership.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

consider being a bit more transparent with your overarching vision. That will help keep people excited and engaged

I worked at Hilton Worldwide full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Depending on the department and department head, Hilton can offer great career development, advancement, and good lifelong business associates.

    Cons

Senior management is never to be trusted. Even when the promise something, don't trust them. They are solely focused on their own egos, perception (by the Board, the community, and their own colleagues), and compensation no matter how often they say we're all in this together. There is definitely a two-class system operating here — top management and everyone else.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fire yourselves because you're beyond hope for improvement plus you wouldn't take advice from the rank and file anyone. (P.S. — rank and file = VP positions and below.)

    Pros

Good employee perks, fun work environment. GM is amazing. Young managers, great relationships are made.

    Cons

Corporate is only concerned with the bottom line and the service suffers. Executive Comity is awful, how they made it that far in their career is a shock. Money isn't great especially when you consider the blood, sweat, and tears you put in. 12 hour days are a low average of what you will work.

I have been working at Hilton Worldwide full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The company values pleasant, honest and committed individuals. For those who do a great job here, there is a lot of room for growth and expansion within the company. However, you have to be willing to put in very long hours and be very committed to the company. It's an excellent job for those beginning their careers, or are in University. The group of employees you work with are also pretty great. Like the company's values, the individuals they hire are cut from the same cloth. This helps aid in making it a nice place to work.

    Cons

The biggest challenge is the work-life balance. Don't expect to have a lot of time to yourself or your life outside of work. There also are not a lot of benefits or perks. You get a small raise at the end of each year, and an even smaller bonus for Thanksgiving (both of which are so small it is hard to call them "raises" or "bonuses"). Managers, in particular, do not receive any extra benefits or "prizes" that they occasionally hand out to associates.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It would be beneficial to find better ways to compensate your staff (outside of base pay). Also, encouraging a better work/life balance for your employees would encourage a more positive environment that would be more likely to encourage productivity (which is the bottom line).
