    Pros

    - Opportunity to learn a variety of industries and skills, as Hitachi does work through a variety of industries and technological practices.
    - Availability to professional training through Hitachi's internal training systems.
    - Strong middle management (M1 to SM2) who are the leaders on projects for Core Consultants and for the most part take a vested interest in the career growth of these Core Consultnats

    Cons

    - Most introductory roles involve PMO and testing, and past experiences aren't usually taken into consideration
    - Not much say to what type of role you first land on
    - Annual Review Process not conducive to career advancement
--Example: The career path is very similar for everyone, even though peers have various project experience and experties, leaving little motivation for those that have the desire to advance their career quicker.

    Advice to Management

Redefine the annual review process for Core Consultants. Evaluating consultants strictly through their associated geography leaves a gap to those that are on projects with management outside of the geo. Having their "career advisor" represent them in the review process is not nearly enough to showcase thee breadth of their project experiences.

    Pros

People: Hitachi Consulting is really good at attracting cool people. The team spirit is excellent, and many employees become good friends. Awesome place to meet new people.

    Cons

Objectives and goals: too much time consuming, for very little outcome! All employees spend hours setting up their goals, self reviewing and discussing them, it's never ending! Yes, salary raise and potential progression/promotion depends on it, but there are way more effective ways of doing this!
Benefits: health insurance is not great . We deserve a better 401K match.

    Advice to Management

Simplify the whole objectives and goals process.
    Increase 401k match
Align salaries to other consulting companies

    Pros

    Highly skilled, collaborative colleagues
Good relationships with most major vendors

    Cons

The top leadership's desire to become a $B company through rapid acquisition had a negative effect on morale

    Advice to Management

Spend less time buying unknown talent, and more time working to retain the quality people that have already made Hitachi Consulting their home.

    Cons

Pay is lower than other consulting firms.

    Advice to Management

Be more direct and detailed about career progression.
