Current Employee – been working at Hofstra University as a contractor for more than a year

Pros – There is a great feeling here on the Hofstra campus, one of belonging. The energy is awesome. Teaching at my alma mater had been a long-time goal, and I was thrilled when it became a reality.

Cons – Would like to be here full-time! Because I am a special instructor in the Continuing Ed division, I don't get involved in the politics of campus life.

Advice to Senior Management – Would like to see additional faculty opportunities open up.

Pros – If you like teaching, Hofstra is great.
Colleagues are easy to get a long with.
Everyone is helpful and will get you what you need if you ask.

Cons – Unfortunately, currently shrinking, so the number of classes available to teach is going to decrease. Some of the more senior staff is retiring in the next few years and it is a shame to see them go.

Advice to Senior Management – Keep doing exactly what you are doing. Fight to get more students into the math program and encourage more participation through student clubs.

Pros – The have a good benefits, it is a great place to work, the people are nice and friendly. The professor are friendly and also the workers.

Cons – The downsides of the Unversity is that they need more parking space. They need more hours instead of thirty-five hours need to work forty hours.

Advice to Senior Management – need to give the employees more hours to work. I love working at hofstra unversity because it is a good place and the enviornment are freindly.

Cons – Hofstra needs more parking on campus, but parking spots can be found.

Pros – Very professional setting, yet very relaxed at the same time. Supervisors are very laid back as long as you do your job well.

Cons – Customer service based jobs may be stressful at times due to the high volume of students to serve. That's about it.
