I worked at Home Goods
Pros – Great hours, above minimum wage pay, and family oriented environment, meet new people and provide help. Discount was ok, 10% off.
Cons – Management was terrible and very disrespectful. No compensation for signing customers up for the Rewards Card.
Advice to Senior Management – Learn how to treat employers in a more respectful manner
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

I worked at Home Goods full-time
Pros – Excellent training for store management, usually sent away for two weeks to a training store, may be out of state.
Cons – Stores are a small operation, limited technology.
Advice to Senior Management – I did not stay that long, but I did see people in my training group get promoted to opening stores

I worked at Home Goods part-time for less than a year
Pros – Close to home. Thought the hours would work with my children's schedule.
Cons – Told me what hours were available for me to work which were great and then scheduled me for a totally difference time. Pay was terrible!
Advice to Senior Management – Stick with a plan
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend

I have been working at Home Goods part-time for less than a year
Pros – The best thing about HomeGoods is the ability to interact with the customers. By providing great customer service and helping them out you are sure to have a happy customer who will keep returning and buying from you. The work environment is friendly and usually non stressful. It's great job to get experience in a retail environment.
Cons – There's not many cons working for this retailer, the biggest being as a associate merchandiser you don't get many hours and you start out at minimum wage, and you don't work for commission.

I have been working at Home Goods full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – You get a little bit of freedom to use your creativity when merchandising.
I hear that management gets payed well. No 2 days are the same.
Cons – *sigh* I really don't like to complain or bash a company but people need to know what to expect. Like many retail stores, there are very many demands with very little pay. In the 3 years that I have been working here, I have seen no less than 10 (probably many more) employees fired for theft. I'm disgusted with the caliber of person I have to work with here.
Advice to Senior Management – Learn more ways to reward and support your managers and staff to get the results you need. Increase the rate of pay to enable the management to hire quality people that won't steal from the company and employees.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

I worked at Home Goods
Pros – HomeGoods discount, great benefits, some Overtime pay for working weekends. Other supervisors are good people, and management tries to be helpful. Most of their managers are hired from in house.
Cons – No overtime pay for Overtime forced to work during the week (already a 10 hour day, then sometimes add two more)
Advice to Senior Management – Continue to promote in house, spend more time training and developing employees, less time at your desks.

I have been working at Home Goods
Pros – Its easy to understand and the basic things that you have to train to do your job correctly, and when you do good you might get a star card....not all the time.
Cons – the management team is lazy, no one really follows the rules. every assistant manager has their own set of rules. the store manager doesnt know what hes doing. and every time a policy changes no one tells us personally so if we don't do it right we get in trouble for it
Advice to Senior Management – everyone needs to be fair with the associate and not side with some and not the other!!!!
