I have been working at Home Instead Senior Care full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Rewarding work that makes a difference. The HQ office has great materials, educational videos. small territories allow for a nice pace of dayfor administrative team. Know name, diligence in hiring people to work in others homes, I like the team in my franchise,

    Cons

Absolutely NO BENEFITS. Pay nationwide is low so you must have spouse with insurance. NO paid vacation or sick leave. This is very disheartening for a healthcare agency NOT to provide any access to insurance. Your office may not provide any training at all, so you hit the ground running. Pay for folks who work ON CALL is extremely low.

    Advice to Management

The franchise headquarters SHOULD provide health care to any person working under its brand.

I worked at Home Instead Senior Care full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The best part of working here was getting to know the families and clients that you are supporting. I was a CCC and enjoyed the fast paced environment and constant changes.

    Cons

Of course the hardest part is losing any clients because they can become part of your family after so long. Dealing with some of the caregivers can be difficult. It takes a very special person to be a GOOD caregiver and They are hard to find. To me personally, the upper management was hard to deal with. They weren't as personable as I thought they should have been. I was told that when I gave my two weeks notice because I had found another job that they thought I was "better than that". Ummm...I didn't have to give you any notice!

I worked at Home Instead Senior Care part-time

    Pros

These are some of the pros to the job: - Flexible Hours - Pick up and Drop Shifts - Can be easy work load

    Cons

These are some of the cons to the job: - Clients can be too needy or bossy - If there are no clients available, you might be out of hours for a bit - Bring on too many clients and not enough employees

    Advice to Management

Limit the amount of clients that you bring in. There were many times that I was overwhelmed with emails and texts asking about shifts to pick up.
