I worked at Honda full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

None. Ohio engineering center is a jail full of idiots.

    Cons

Bunch of freshly graduate engineering comunityes, with no understanding of vehicles design. They just blindly follow a process created 15 year ago, that is mo longer valid. Expect to work 60 hours in 5 day with 40 hours pay. Everithing is by the book . And the book is poorly done. Management flexibility is zero. Forget about the word Promotion. Never ever unless your Japanese from Japan.

    Advice to Management

Get a look on the outside of the carbord box you're living inn. Engineers are not slaves. This is why manny leave in 3 years.

    Pros

Marysville is a nice place to ride around.

    Cons

The company has several problems with being respectfully and Honorable. Being picky and revengfull is not Honorable. I got a State Job after I left. I got tired of so many inexperienced personnel running drama. So many people pretend to be running something and in the end it means 5th grade. You would think people in there were running NASA. In reality they are rude, crude, uneventful dramatic reality stars. The treatment toward US Veterens is sad. Honda should know that America has allowed them to do business here. They can leave tomorrow which is where some of the business already has left and stayed. Aloha MEXICO. That's the start of the end for Honda. Hyunda is producing better cars at a cheaper rate. Honda recalls are at a record high and not Hot tempered Manager is going to stop them.

    Advice to Management

    Go back to Japan

I have been working at Honda as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

There are some very nice, very hard-working people there. Pay is not good, but it's the best around in this lousy economy

    Cons

    1) Ignoring long-term temps and hiring off the street is a pathetic, inexcusable practice. 2) Management appears to be "willfully stupid".

    Advice to Management

    Hari Kari.

I worked at Honda as a contractor (More than 3 years)

    Pros

umm...thinking. Plant closed on Christmas and 4th of July is about it.

    Cons

Mandatory 6 days a week. 10+ hour shifts. Very low pay compared to rest of country. Most people try to get a job there in Lincoln , Al because its the only job around,

    Advice to Management

Hire less temps and more perm employees. Give them decent family time. Your employees can only survive on OT.

I worked at Honda full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Pay and benefits are good. They make a good product but have manufacturing problems they should have resolved by now. Well known name and quality.

    Cons

Don't ever work in Accounting. Work area may have Carbon Monoxide contamination. Very strict work conditions and structure. Can't miss much work for any reason the first year or you will get fired. Poor training and management communication. People are overloaded in their jobs. Bad moral. Too much stress.

    Advice to Management

Learn to train people so they have a chance. Don't know what you are doing. Upgrade software. Simplify processes.

    Cons

-base pay is 20% off of Industry or other OEM's, unless you work ridiculous overtime -very strict, not receptive to new ideas (can't even have drinks at the desk!) -3-5 years til first promotion, raises are small

    Advice to Management

    -raise pay -promote from within

I have been working at Honda full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It's a paycheck-average pay, but not worth the insane pace you have to keep up with. The only good reason to work here is for medical benefits.

    Cons

Insane pace of production line. You literally do not have the time to wipe sweat from your brow, much less get a drink of water-even when the fountain is only 10 feet away. I honestly believe, because of the speed of the line, they dont't care if you live or die. Yet some people have jobs where they spend half their time leaning on car hoods and talking. I see almost half the people on these hectic lines-who are at least 50 years old. And then, they disrupt your family life-by rotating your shift every 2 weeks.

    Advice to Management

    Consider the human factor.

    Pros

good place to start off your career. they have hostels where you can stay and have good employment benefits

    Cons

very very unprofessional Makes you wait 3 months to reject! They are not clear about what kind of associates they want

    Advice to Management

be more professional, do not reject candidates just because they do not have the visa to go to china for the final round interview. thats just pathetic!
