I worked at Honeywell as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

This company is a fantastic place to do an internship. I got hands-on experience which my prospective employers are pleased with. My father has been working here for 27 years as an electrical engineer and has nothing but great things to say about the company; they have treated him very well.

    Cons

The health insurance plan could be better and there is no pension (although this seems to be the trend at most employers nowadays).

I worked at Honeywell as a contractor for less than a year

    Pros

The company was great to work for, the people were very kind, responsive, outgoing and great to work for. The supervisors were very good to work for because when I had questions I could call them and have them answered. The work schedule was great because I got to choose the time for the first appointment. The training process was great and greatly improved my understanding of my responsibilities of the job.

    Cons

There was a lot of paperwork that had to be done on a daily basis, it was very time consuming.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Go paperless, using Ipads.

I have been working at Honeywell full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Flexible working environment and interesting work. Co-workers are very knowledgeable for the most part. The company culture promotes staying up to speed with latest industry developments.

    Cons

Benefits have eroded every year since I have been there. It seems like this is happening across the US, but Honeywell seems to be on the forefront. For example, Pension became 401k, 100% matching became 75% matching, HSA additions have gone down and wouldn't be surprised if they did away with it altogether next year. Don't get me started on the health insurance. Salary raises are on the low side.

I have been working at Honeywell full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The partner discounts that Honeywell offers are phenomenal. Also, there's plenty of business sectors that offer lateral as well as upward growth.

    Cons

This particular office was the biggest challenge. The culture at the Atlanta HBS office was TERRIBLE.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The staff is a reflection of management's best and worst qualities. Management should not perpetuate or encourage negative culture in the sense of co-worker relations.

I worked at Honeywell as a contractor for more than a year

    Pros

Good pay, Great people to work with, Flexible hours. Good opportunity to increase responsibility. Great support staff.

    Cons

Contractors can only stay for a max of 24 months prior to being let go due to current rules. Parking is problematic as well as contractors and employees alike must park where ever they can, sometimes 1/4 mile away from the building.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fix the parking concern. Folks are forced to park in different places just about every day.

I worked at Honeywell full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Enjoyed working with quite a few co-workers, but management has a total different perspective about how to really run a business. They conspire to cover up how they are ripping the company and corprate off BIG TIME !

    Cons

Just trying to do your job, and not everybody elses ! They pray on certain employees that are very good at what they do, while the slaggers get away with doing nothing, and working all of the over time, and get all of the prais !

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

start relying on the productive employees, and getting the slaggers to do their jobs ! Stop firing the good ones, and get rid of the bad ones !

I have been working at Honeywell full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

It can be difficult to get your foot in the door at Honeywell but it is worth the persistence. So many people here have longevity of 20, 30, 40 years which is, virtually, unheard of these days. One of the first things I noticed on my first day was that most people were smiling and some were whistling as they walked down the hall. This is a fantastic, stable company with smart, great people. Honeywell tries to always promote from within and encourages learning, growing, and moving, laterally or upward, to improve your knowledge and gain new strengths. The benefits are decent, although not what they once were. Leadership is superior and they are always pushing themselves and all employees to continually improve. Great leadership + great employees = a great company.

    Cons

Hours can sometimes be long, but hard work is recognized.
