    Pros

It was a good job before they took nearly 1/4th of the salary away Depends on what position you have for how many hours you work. Inside workers are 40/45, route sales are 60+

    Cons

Poor management. Use of cardboard that is thrown away after one use; there is money for that, but not to pay your workers. real nice. Terrible hours, wage reductions do not make me wanna work any harder

    Advice to Management

Be a manager, do not run routes. Your job is to manage people and sell our brand. Not be vacation relief

    Pros

My customers are the only good things. Pretty much left alone unless there is a problem. Pay is OK except it's not what it use to be

    Cons

No support. The management don't have any real knowledge of the business. The manage feels that they can run everything from behind the desk

    Advice to Management

Some one needs to be in direct contact with store management . The rsp doesn't have the time to stand around.

    Pros

Top selling product, both bread and cake. People always wanted to buy the product, often times it was difficult to keep stores properly stocked because of the popularity of the product.

    Cons

When a company goes broke selling a popular item like twinkies and cupcakes, something is very wrong. Poor management

  6. Dictatorial, disrespectful, archaic, good ol'boy managment drove hourlies to the union instead of drawing them away.

    Pros

To work to improve the culture and make a difference in the management team.

    Cons

Any improvement attempted is fought at all levels and departments to keep the status quo for fear of raising the bar and possibly the performance expectations. Extremely low integrity among management. Very low accountability for those not performing.

    Advice to Management

Stop expecting the same people who put the company in the position it's in to do any different than they've done since years before the last bankruptcy. Stop trying to turn the company around with the same people who drove it into the ditch in the first place. It wasn't the union. It was supervision all the way through EVPs that did this.

    The Company Liquidated in 2012

    Advice to Management

Upper Management should have listened to the employees in the field.

    Pros

Hostess had an iconic product still in demand.

    Cons

Management failed in so many ways with Hostess, and not just with respect to union contracts. You can't continue to operate the same way you have for 100 years and expect to compete.

    Pros

Being able to get out and deal with customers on a daily basis. Also, providing a service to the community by distributing a commodity.

    Cons

Management was very secretive about what was really going on with the company, maybe their way of keeping employees there until the end.

    Advice to Management

No need to give advice, they ran the company into the ground.
