    Pros

    Meeting people from all over the world, some amazing employees. Promote within

    Cons

    They don't communicate effectively, management unethical with employees. Very unorganized, doesn't have work/life balance andus pay more $$$ for our hard work. Doesn't inform employees what they are entitled to and tell you it has changed-but there's nothing written.

    Pros

    meeting new people who travel all over the world

    Cons

    Schedule is awful. 4 AM or late nights till 8:30
    Training is bad. Supervisor who trains breaks rules. Lack of training. 2 months- looking for another job. ASGM making remarks or doing actions behind other employees.

    Advice to Management

    If you want us to let you know when we need to take time off then when the schedule is made you post it then change it without notice makes it very difficult for people who have lives outside of the job and 2 day in row off would be nice instead of work a day have a day off work 3 and then another day off. People need time to replenish themselves.

    Pros

    Busy and physical environment. Promotes from within. People are friendly. Company gives free magazines to employees every week. Easy to get to from bus line.

    Cons

    Pay is very low. Schedules aren't great and company doesn't work with people to take time off. There is no training at all. Warehouse is very dirty.

    Advice to Management

    Treat your employees better.

    Pros

    Enjoyable to engage with customers who appreciate good service.

    Cons

    Support by regional and corporate management is abysmal. There is no culture unless 'cya' is considered culture. There are great people at the store levels that are consistently ignored and overlooked.

    Advice to Management

    Say hi to your associates when you enter a store. Please watch Undercover Boss again and pay attention.

    Pros

    It's a good and easy place to work at good pay

    Cons

    Their always changing things the rules every other week we had memo attached to our check stubs it's all ways something at this place or maybe just the one in Las Vegas

    Advice to Management

    The upper management needs to ack like management and not act stupid because they make all this money

    Cons

    Manager always changing my schedule every week.I applied for morning shift after a while he switched me to evening shift.

    Get a better manager to manage the store.

    Pros

    I get to work with books.

    Cons

    A shiny glass ceiling, almost zero potential for upward growth and a complete disregard for the integrity of the employees. The slow destruction of bookstores as transitioned into news stands.

    Advice to Management

    Remember that happy booksellers sell more books. Stop overloading middle management: dissatisfaction and overworking trickles down.

    I found a little flexibility with scheduling work hours.

    Cons

    The company does not have a good team to work with nor does it have a good Manager. People are very unhappy there.

    Pros

    If you work in operations, the environment is never boring. Working in airport retail provides constant stimulation; you're always faced with new people and new situations. And yet it's nice being part of a constant fixture that provides a helpful and comforting service to the passengers who come and go.

    Cons

    Company leadership places a very low value on hiring middle/upper managers who have decent (and in some cases, even basic) people-management skills. The store managers and below who work under these guys are treated very poorly: long hours and constant feedback on what they're doing wrong, but with minimal support or appreciation. When smart, reasonable people are hired, they tend to leave quickly.

    Advice to Management

    A few years ago, GM's and above supposedly underwent "intensive" emotional intelligence training, with no perceivable result. Maybe try it again, but with real commitment? Until this company places a real value on making its employees feel valued and supported, and giving them the tools, training, and resources to deliver on what's expected of them, the best of them (and Hudson's best hope for the future) will continue to leave.

    Pros

    The pay is good for retail.

    Cons

    Everyone has an attitude, especially the sales associates. You don't do anything but stand all day and everyone is so bored that they just gossip and bad mouth everyone in the company.

    Advice to Management

    The sales associates are rude and disrespectful to new co workers. They encourage each other to talk back to supervisors and even the supervisors steal from the company on overages from the register.
