    Pros

Good and friendly working environment. core technical work. good processes. Non political. Free fruits and snacks.

    Cons

Not so good office facilities. No recreation facilities in the office.

    Advice to Management

Put tt, whose ball or some recreation for the employees. There is a scope for improving office facilities.

I have been working at IG full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Employee age is generally 25-35. Good social and happy people. Lots to learn. Good industry breadth. Bonus can be ok. Hub drinks. Company has been expanding so hopefully opportunities. I feel management listen. I feel valued and listened too. Lots of international offices and expanding - Trading services and sales positions relatively frequent. Multicultural. Great location on Cannon Street, London.

    Cons

Flat management structure could also be a pro, however i can see how it may have issues for career progression further up. Within Trading Services I don't feel the pay adequately reflects the skills, potential stress, job requirements, or work done. When compared to others in the business at the same level and their pay (as stated and talked about amongst friends) it doesn't reflect for the greater responsibility, and other reasons, as above.

    Advice to Management

have an internal review of inefficient structure. fix the things which need to be refined before steam rolling on with new products. Listen and adapt - get some younger peoples in put to higher level management ... we're only just setting up an affiliate scheme and referrals, potential social aspects and client community? Pleeeeease!!!

I have been working at IG full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

IG make every effort to look after their employee's. Each month there are free drinks either inside the canteen area or on the roof gardens. Allowing employee to mix with teams they may not deal with every day. Free fruit and tea's or coffee's each day. Each kitchen area also has a great range of herbal tea that are free to staff. The workstations and desk space is above average and the equipment is either a Macintosh or HP PC running the latest OS. The people are very friendly (including senor management ) and the HR team are extremely good and very helpful Very good pension scheme which is very flexible with access to 3rd party companies for 1to1 guidance. Superb Christmas party and for those people who cannot come along because they are working a Hamper is given to them.

    Cons

Most IT departments will do on call duties and may be required to do late night and sometimes weekend work. This is classed as a requirement of job and is not paid for. Time scales for projects are extremely aggressive and can be unrealistic at times.

    Advice to Management

Make sure you keep checking what other companies are offering staff as a package and make sure the company doesn't full behind. Otherwise the company risks loosing what makes it great. To the most part this does happen but the company doesn't like to talk about it. Try and be more open on all the good things which are done for the staff

I worked at IG full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Hiring individuals based on a good fit meant many positive work relationships and individuals with similar focus. Good motivation levels that inspired. While more structure to the hierarchy has developed over the years, management are still approachable and willing to listen. Extra hours are expected but generally recognised.

    Cons

Communication wasn't always as good as it could have been, changes explained as they happened. Promotion opportunities limited, many young and talented individuals have moved on as a result, top management seemingly unwilling to address this.

I worked at IG full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

IG looks after staff fairly well and the benefits and facilities around the office are good. If you deliver, you can be rewarded well. The company works hard to maintain the quality of it's products and brand values which is reflected in the corporate culture. IG can be slow to adapt to new technologies and ideas

    Cons

There is a hierarchy and a gulf between staff and senior management. There is another gulf between technology and the business functions and it can seem at times that it's two separate companies you're hearing about. Because of high staff retention over the years in certain areas, it can be clicky. It's a professional, well oiled machine and that doesn't suit everyone's working style, particularly if you hate the idea of being a cog in a wheel.
