    Pros

Coworkers/atmosphere were the highlight, most everyone was easy to get along with and made the tougher days ease up a bit

    Cons

Low pay rate for workload. Project, proceedures, guidelines not well thought out upon execution. Mass confusion amongst various departments. The only customer service outfit I've seen where telling people, "No, I can't help you" was exceptable.

    Advice to Management

    They already know...

    I worked at IKEA part-time

    Pros

Benefits, free and discounted lunch, uniform provided, alot of company activities , higher pay than most retail jobs

    Cons

Hours are not consistent, never scheduled over 16 hours average, rude customers, bad management, breaks not given

If the company enforces policies, please make sure you guys are educated and trained in those policies and then educate your staff so everyone is doing the same thing. Give your staff breaks!

I worked at IKEA full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good work-life balance, ability to make most of your own decisions, company supports local charities and environmental groups, great coworkers, above average retail pay and benefits.

    Cons

Management is not in touch with the reality of what customers or sales staff need. They tend to stay in their offices and in meetings most of their day; rarely coming out to the sales floor. There are exceptions to this rule but they are few and far between. Rules have gotten very strict; If you clock in or out 1 minute late or early, you will be marked as tardy. Three tardies in one year result in disciplinary action.
