I worked at IKON full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

This job will make you instantly realize that you can do better. You quickly realize that it is JOB not a Career. You work for corporate America, not with them.

    Cons

Management has no idea how to draw morale. Site managers will lead you to believe that you are going to help you move forward with your career. The truth is unless you sleep with someone or know someone in upper management, you will never get promoted.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Practice what you preach!

    Pros

I can not think of any

    Cons

    Hostile environment. 80% turn over.
Company is behind in technology. Industry views them as a dinosaur.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Advice to management treat employees with respect. Learn how to have productive conversations instead of shouting at people all the time.

I have been working at IKON full-time for more than a year

    Pros

a recognized named but one that has a simple and bad reputation.

    Cons

Dinosaurs running the place and terrified of technology. They talk the talk but have no clue who their clients are and more importantly who their employees are. If this place had a leader it could be a great business.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Leave. Leave and let fresh blood come in with fresh ideas. So many people that want to be the boss but have no idea how to be a good boss have power there. The segmented departments with no leader understanding how to get them to work together is the most common trend. Stop worrying about your lame ass reports and worry about delivering to your clients. Empower your employees to win. The "leadership" in Nor Cal - SF specifically is a bad sitcom of bad bosses. No real QC checks, no investment into employees, no career paths. It is a job and when it is a job don't be surprised when people do just enough.

I have been working at IKON full-time for more than a year

    Pros

none that I can think of

    Cons

Top management can't be trusted (they change the rules whenever convenient)
    Heavy-handed management, top-down decision-making
Resist moving from "box" selling to selling "professional services" despite lip service to contrary
    Sniping at every level
Best "box sellers" continue to be rewarded

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Ricoh should "downsize" all IKON management (unnecessary, Ricoh has a US sales organization)

I worked at IKON full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Great local people in a very bad environment. Their integrity will not allow them to do a bad job.

    Cons

Horrible lying upper management, no integrity whatsoever. Sales fails so the failing reps keep their jobs while Service people get let go.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get some integrity and stop throwing away good tenured employees away like yesterday's garbage.

I worked at IKON full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Worked with other coworkers as part of a team setting.

    Cons

Lack of employee respect and appreciation. Boss was harassing others when in a bad mood. Had to sign a Wait to Work form while waiting for hours in the office for work without pay and sometimes had to work overtime without pay. Pay was minimum wage.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Respect and appreciate employees. Worked as a Document Specialist in Raleigh NC. Boss harassed others whenever in a bad mood. No more Wait to Work form of waiting for hours for work in the office with no pay and working overtime without pay.

I worked at IKON full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

At the time I left the company, they still employed full time 40 hour per week employees and forced to offer group health insurance, although very expensive and inadequate.

    Cons

Employees are constantly monitored, graded and judged by "performance" numbers that are as hard to achieve success with as winning the lottery, with the rules and chances of "winning" constantly changing and adjusted to be more and more difficult. Thus, with little or no chance of achieving high scores, the company has plenty of reason not to award pay raises.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There`s way too much upper management at Malvern, PA that has too much time on their hands and need for justifying their jobs by finding constant new strategy for interrogating and penalizing the lower and middle class employees. This was obviously considered a priority to penalize employees rather than promote or help them and very little focus or regard for the consumer customers that the company serves.

    I worked at IKON

    Pros

Insurance and time off were great incentives. Co-workers made it tolerable to come to work every day.

    Cons

Too many daily reports. Unjust metric performance reviews. No overtime but employee expectations were do your job in 8 hours.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more diversified, especially with non-african americans. No support from managers and they definitely did not have your back.

I have been working at IKON

    Pros

    Great vacation policy. great co-workers

    Cons

If we dont pass a usless test we get demoted to entry level. Makes 26 years of service a total waste according to senior managment.
Moral couldnt be any lower. Used to love my job,,now I HATE IT.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You should really be ashamed, How would you like to be treated like this.
You wont get good customer service with VERY UNHAPPY people.
Ricoh is the worst thing that ever happened to Ikon. The people we have from Ricoh are usless and dont have a clue.

    I worked at IKON

    Pros

You get to build relationships with high powered attorneys and corporate legal departments and C-level clients. They also have excellent training but it is too long.

    Cons

The Sales and Production/Operations divisions are at constant odds which makes the position unnecessarily difficult. Sales has a high turnover and Operations consists of hourly employees who take out their frustrations on the salespeople.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire support people and production managers who will do their job and act professionally.
