I worked at INC Research full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    Working commute flexibility
    Competitive salary
Closed between Xmas and New Years

    Cons

Any department that is not related to the clinical operations is horrible to work for. Clinical operations have their processes perfect. While the rest of the company like it is exactly the opposite always trying to catch up, few people with initiatives never get promoted. Promotions are a joke only if is convenient to some upper management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

They are losing a lot of good talent for no focusing on quality but only speed of delivery, while the people in clinical brings the money the rest of the departments make sure clinicsl operations has all the tools running smoothly

Can be a good place to grow but company cohesion needs work

I have been working at INC Research

    Pros

Company is growing so there are opportunities to advance. Benefits consistent with industry. If placed in the right position and able to learn on the job it can be a good place to learn skills needed in industry.

    Cons

Not enough training for new hires and unprepared people are put on studies. This causes inefficiencies and extra work when working with people who do not understand responsibilities of their role. Departments can be too separate when working on the same study, contributing to confusion about people's roles. Therapeutically focused business units can be uncooperative with those outside their group. There is needless competition between groups when cooperation would produce better results and culture.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The company needs a cohesive team vision. There is too much competition between business units when cooperation would be more efficient and less stressful and difficult for all involved. Budget for training.

    Pros

Good team to work with. More study for you to invovle and wonderful internship program

    Cons

You are limited to one specific job requirement, programming, data management, biostatistician groups

    Unreal Expectations for CTLs

I worked at INC Research full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Typical CRO environment but training is lacking. Directors had unreal expectations.

    Cons

Was given a backlog of reports to review before I was even finished with orientation. Hadn't even had the opportunity to learn the study before I was given a deadline for reviewing reports. I had a project assistant go on medical leave and I was expected to take on their job and continue mine.

Big ideas but complacency will get you nowhere.

I have been working at INC Research full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

A very relaxed work environment. Little to no micro-management, with flexible working hours. Management lets employee work independently at own pace, while maintaining communication of expectations. Growing company that has influx of work/opportunities for experience in the CRO world.

    Cons

Without ambition certain departments will let you stay in the same position for lengthy amounts of time. They underpay their employees compared to other CROs. Training is inconsistent and self-directed, so an employee lacking concentration will vary from standard protocol, rarely follow guidelines and rarely get punished.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management should become aware that complacency is evident in certain departments and should find solutions to motivate employees. Management should also undergo training in conflict resolution. It would be beneficial to the company for employees and management to have meaningful discourse, without predisposed mindsets/attitudes.

    Pros

Good teams to work for, good vision of the new CEO, they want to give people a chance to grow, promote from within. low number of days to qualify for Clinical Monitoring Rewards Program when compared to other CROs. Willing to be flexible about work from home if you are able to do so with your position, good trainings, trusted process works.

    Cons

pay, resources, lack of change when promised that work life balance will get better, sometimes an unfair promotion pathway and compensation for promoted individuals when new hires make more money

    Pros

This company is growing quickly and the financials are strong. A good CRO to work for if you are in the right role/group. My experience with Sponsor Contracts WORK ORDERS, Finance, and Project Management was positive.

Salary was reasonable. Benefits are good.

    Cons

My experience with Sponsor Contracts CHANGE ORDERS was horrific. They sell you on "management by results" and "flexibility/work-life balance." The truth is, if you want to experience the worst form of narcissistic micro-management ever, then join the Sponsor Contracts Change Orders group. In my 20 years or professional work, I have never seen this level of micro-management and worse, direct manipulation of the truth. On the other hand, if you want to be a robot and never receive any positive feedback, this is the place for you!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please, either a) continue to provide management training to all levels of management in the Sponsor Contracts Change Orders division and b) understand that while one story like mine could be "random," but multiple stories like mine that have been confirmed constitutes a big flashing warning sign that problems exist.

I worked at INC Research full-time

    Pros

If you have a good team, it makes work a pleasure even if the client is not! Also, because you'll be in a role for a long time you'll have a great opportunity to learn it and master all areas.

    Cons

As with other CROs, they over promise and expect their teams to pick up the slack. Salaries were not competitive.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Improve transparency, penalizing your staff for being honest hurts the entire company. It is too easy for managers to prevent promotions to deserving staff.
