    Pros

Hugely successful, great products and some really excellent people.

    Cons

Have no idea what it takes to get things done. Unrealistic expectations of staff. Poor corporate culture - have an entitlement mentality.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get real! Start listening to what your staff are telling you and the results being achieved will be even better.

    Pros

Staff is friendly and systems were being upgraded to more modern technology. Worked a lot but enjoyed the work. Very family type environment, it is Hawaii.

    Cons

Educational programs set up werenʻt established, a lot of people retiring without a group of people who were hired to people have the knowledge passed down. Seemed like everything was on a small budget. Even though government contracts gave up a lot of money.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Had worked at a remote site so management referred to another person for my progress, when he should have talked directly to me than a coworker. From previous experience that same coworker had issues with family that worked there before and he only had negative things to say about me. Manager was inexperienced at his job, because he was just hired into it. Just got promoted after spending years of work in the similar job that I had been hired into.

    Pros

Was a good place for me to start working and gain experience. It has a very good life work balance and flexible hours. Found enough people there who were willing to put in the time to grow a young engineer.

    Cons

Management here is terrible. Left because of politics and because I felt like I hit a ceiling in the company very quickly. I don't know if that has changed since I left.

Good people, adequate work experience. Pretty much your standard big corporate business, as far as I could tell.

    Pros

I worked at an office that had (at the time) recently been acquired by ITT. I did have a lot of opportunities to explore a variety of roles while I was there, largely through some experimental local programs that got shut down as the corporate entity continued extending control over the company. Good people; I cannot think of a single person I actually worked with there who I was not able to get along with and work productively with.

    Cons

Progressively more and more of those good people left as time passed after the acquisition. I would not be surprised if none of the people I worked with are still there.

When I was laid off, due to unavailability of compatible contracts, I was given zero notice. I did receive two weeks severance pay as compensation, but as anyone who has been in that position knows, it is much harder to find employment if you are not currently employed...as a result I spent several months unemployed until I was able to find another opportunity.

    Pros

    Friendly coworkers
    Lots of lunch meetings

    Cons

    Bad Industry Outlook
    Not Honest with Employees

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Honesty is Key. Don't say one thing and do another. For instance, don't send an email to the entire company saying that we're meetting our financial targets and everything is rosy, then close facilities and have 15% layoffs.

I like my coworkers and my managers, but I don't like that the company is top heavy with too many managers.

    Pros

Engineering managers are layed back and don't micro-manage.

    Cons

The company keeps firing low level workers and keeps hiring more managers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hiring more managers doesn't solve the problem.
