I worked at Impax Laboratories full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Pay is below average, but its a good resume builder. SOP Training is about 2 weeks long on average and the actual job training begins afterwards.

    Cons

terrible and highly unprofessional management. Getting hired as a temp is more common than not. The temp agency they use are incredibly difficult to work with.

I worked at Impax Laboratories full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

If you are a new graduate with no real world experience, they will hire and train you, besides, you have the chances to perform various tests.

    Cons

The compensation is well below average, not much work-life balance and tons of responsibilities which should not be applicable to chemists.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The company is under new management now, not sure what's happening, but wish them all the best.

    I worked at Impax Laboratories

    Pros

    - Immediate Co-workers are, for the most part, very friendly.
    - Except for one case, supervisors were generally understanding and friendly

    Cons

    - Terrible backbiting/gossip.
    - Each group has to compete for money to get the supplies and workers they need.
    - When it's time for job reviews to decide who is getting a raise, the company goes to war with itself with backstabbing and gossip in order to get a larger share of the money. People who are otherwise nice to you are quick to stab you in the back in order to secure a new file cabinet, temp, or wage raise for their department. This creates a very passive-aggressive, demoralizing environment to work in

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Provide your groups with enough supplies.
    - Try and control gossip. It's destructive and the person gossiped about always finds out. No amount of free pizza can make someone feel good about working at a company if they find out that the leader from another department has been lying to your supervisor in order to sabotage you or your department's chances at getting an additional cardboard box or stapler.
    - Treat your low-level employees with respect

    Pros

The employees were great and very helpful.

    Cons

Shifts are long 12hrs, Very Micromanaged and very little respect to some employees by some managment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Teach Managers how to respect employees as if they were technicians. Also stop micromanaging and treating employess like they are uneducated.

    Good people, poor company

Current Employee - QC Chemist I
Current Employee - QC Chemist I

I have been working at Impax Laboratories full-time

    Pros

the people you work with are generally good people. likely to make life-long friendships. everyone is treated well enough on a personal level.

    Cons

the company policies protect the company (profit) at the expense of its employees (even the good ones). virtually all lower-level and even mid-level employees are overworked and underpaid. I've been working there for nearly 3 years now, and though most of the management in my department have told me on several occasions that I deserve to be promoted, I still have not been.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    care more about your employees.
