Great solutions, decent management, some process issues

    Direct Sales (Current Employee)

ProsThey absolutely have the best data security solution suite anywhere, anyhow. Nothing else comes close.

ConsA lot of the enterprise market is resistant to Imperva's new paradigm for security, but they are coming around. Also, the management being out of Israel does pose some cultural issues re urgency.

Advice to Senior ManagementStreamline processes! Too much work to get an order completed.

Intense organic growth that results in lots of opportunity, but long hours to survive.

    Manager (Current Employee)
    Redwood City, CA

ProsGet to work from home or small region and decent travel opportunities.

ConsVery long work hours. If you are not sales, takes a lot of blood sweat and tears to grow the organization. Current organizational model is not scale-able and not sustainable. People get burnt out easier than other companies I've been at. Only the very strong survive and even prosper.

Advice to Senior ManagementHire more regional managers to allow those regions to grow and not saddle upper management so much of the lower-level operations. This may be the case with sale, but not with the operations and support organizations.

Great place to work, excellent products and technology, and great personnel, Fast-paced and deadline-driven environment

    Product Marketing Manager (Former Employee)
    Foster City, CA

ProsI consistently liked working with people in every group at Imperva, including Sales, Product Management, Corporate Marketing, and Channel Marketing. Each employee was supportive, helpful, responsive, and adapted well to an often high pressured, deadline-driven environment.

ConsThe work environment is relatively somber, despite having the monthly company lunch to celebrate birthdays and special occasions. There is a lot of work, divided among small groups of people, which can be the source of occasional tension and less downtime.

Advice to Senior ManagementTo try to understand employees better and give them an opportunity to express their views about new skills they want to attain and new projects they want to be involved in, and not just be subject to a top-down style of management wherein they are given specific tasks to complete.

    OK but not great

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsThe company is upwards mobile, and it works in a very hot industry. The efforts are sometimes rewarded, and we do the best job in protecting customers.

ConsThere is too much office politics. There's no clear guidance on the vision and direction that the company should take, and for some employees the compensation leaves a lot to be desired.

Advice to Senior ManagementWho am I to?

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
