    Pros

    Medium size business with a small business attitude. Many opportunities for growth, and experience. The small business attitude allows for a fast paced work environment where you can affect real change. Fun place to work with great people and great culture.

    Cons

    Can be a bit silo-ed. It seems that upper management needs to be more aligned.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Show better unification. The silo-ing sometimes pits departments against each other the detriment of the company.

    Pros

    inContact has great people. They are very down to earth and easy to work with. Even when dealing with managers up the chain, they have an open door policy and are willing to work with you one on one. Another pro about inContact is that they are open to suggestions and willing to change where feasible. They are a growing company and know that many changes come with that growth. They are also striving to improve the employee experience by creating a fun place to work. They put a lot of effort into activities and events for the company. I appreciate that this is important to them and like where the company is headed.

    Cons

    The company is growing at a rate that is hard to keep up with. The work load is heavy and only continues to grow as the company grows. They are rapidly hiring to help mitigate that, so I am hopeful for the future. However, in the interim, there is so much to do that it is hard to keep up with it all. Good job security though :)

    Pros

    The people doing the work are all awesome. You'll work with some of the best and smartest people you've ever met. The pay's competitive and the company is making money and growing. Lots of interesting and challenging problems. Most days it is fun to come to work. Upper management has a good view of the market and a vision for success. Functional managers work hard to support their direct reports.

    Cons

    Middle Management is crap at communicating and acting upon upper managements vision, spending time principally on empire-building which means unnecessary inter-departmental conflict and demonstrable lack of trust between middle and upper management. The company's default answer to any problem is to throw a lot of people at a problem and burn them out. Opportunities for promotions and job growth are laughably small for a growing company. Medical benefits are mediocre.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Stop celebrating burnout behavior. If you really want to reward someone for putting in long hours at a critical time, demonstrate that you appreciate that by making sure it's not SOP. Invest in fixing the cause of the problem rather than buying a pizza and then doing the same thing next week.

    Pros

    Positive environment with great people, heavy focus on employee fulfillment from top down, company/team outings, company parties, prizes, opportunities to win trips, occasional catered lunches. The CEO Paul Jarman is the nicest guy! Paul will hold doors open for people, say "hi" to anyone as he passes them. Knowing that a guy like that is running the company says to me he will go to great lengths to ensure his employees are happy.

    Cons

    The Operations department can be rather demanding. The type of work can be rather mundane, redundant, and unfulfilling, and often requires late nights during the week for change controls. On-call can be rough, as NOC will call out for minor things that could have waited til business hours (however on-call does pay an additional $200 bonus).

    Advice: Don't apply for an operations job if you are looking to expand your skill set and technical knowledge. The most interaction you have with equipment will be calling in hardware failures and diagnosing problems by digging through logs or calling the vendor to dig through logs. If this doesn't bother you, it may be just what you are looking for.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Provide more learning and growth opportunities for Operations. In IT, if you aren't constantly renewing yourself either by education or on the job experience, you are likely to devalue your self.

    great market to be in, fast moving, plenty of upside opportunities in the marketplace

    process has taken over to a fault.

    The only way decisions get done are via the executive committee. over controlling, micromanaged

    Pros

    The company is stacked with hard-working dedicated people who are professional and friendly. Great culture and support for employee-driven initiatives. Plus I didn't notice ANY office politics!

    Cons

    Executive management seems to change too often. Need more consistency and longevity. Too often a new leader steps in and changes things slightly which resulted in productivity and momentum loss at the field level.

    Pros

    Never a dull moment. inContact is continuously challenging the status quo in an effort to improve products and processes. If you enjoy working hard and making a difference this is a good company to join. Really great team members; lots of passion.

    Cons

    Passion goes both ways...sometimes feels a little schizophrenic and out of control.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    The company is moving in the right direction; however momentum is lost by changing course too often. Don't make changes just for the sake of changing. Say what you mean and mean what you say.
