    Pros

Good staff benefits, good pay if you're in the right place, opportunity to work from home, pretty accessible management. Relatively easy to sit down with senior management. Excellent colleagues. Definitely a training ground for better things: one learns a lot, and perhaps staff retention could prevent exporting of skills.

    Cons

    A slight preoccupation with bureaucracy

Former Employee - Sales Manager  in  London, England (UK)
Former Employee - Sales Manager in London, England (UK)

    Pros

Sociable teams, a good place to work and the location is perfect in London. A great place to learn sales/management skills, they hire from within so you can move quickly up the business

    Cons

The commission structure is limited, depending on your job function. If you are not in a sponsorship role, you are not making any money. Constantly striving to cut costs wherever they can, and often cut too much with redundancies commonplace

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try not to be so hierarchical, give your management teams some autonomy rather than having just the MD telling you what to do. Stop being so grumpy all the time.

Former Employee - Conference Production  in  London, England (UK)
Former Employee - Conference Production in London, England (UK)

    Pros

No blame culture here and very little politics for a large organisation.
Benefits e.g. half price gym membership and pension contributions.
    A fun place to work.
Good profit share/bonus schemes if you perform well.
Office in good location in central London.

    Cons

A bit clunky and traditional - new ideas can be shot down without a trial. Restructures to satisfy shareholders. Delegate sales team not treated as a professional sales team and it's not seen as a career path.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do more external benchmarking to keep up with the times.
Also create a clearer career path and support employees to get where they want to go e.g. Producers could be promoted to Senior Producers before becoming Portfolio Managers.

Room to move departments due to company size

    Cons

Low pay- I was in Sales and myself, including colleagues felt we were misleaded with the commission structure
Very dated working environment- I'm sure they had not bothered to renovate the office since first built in the 60's!!
