    Cons

NA sales Management shows no value for the employee

    Advice to Management

clean house on the empty suits running sales for North America, they spend more time tearing sales people down that building a sales organization that sells to the customer needs, ELA's only in the on premise world, slight of hand accounting to build up cloud revenue

    Pros

Well regarded by all the industry analysts Most products are class leaders No debt Delivers business value Loyal customers

    Cons

Way too many layers of management Can't trust upper management after being told repeatedly that the company wasn't going to go private Upper management getting rich off of stock options and stock grants while everyone else fails to benefit from buyout Took a really low offer at $5.3 billion Lack of credibility from management Tremendous amounts of turnover Not so strong hires due to backlash from turnover Declining morale Ran off great management, brought in poor management that killed the culture and put the company on the path that has lead to the need to go private Rewarding executive management financially as they ruined the company Upper management out of touch with the workforce Lack of real leadership across the board in upper management No immediate vesting for 100% of stock awards Killing the employee stock purchase program at end of July instead of letting it continue until company is sold so the rank and file can at least make a few extra bucks off the deal General disappointment as the rank and file feel betrayed, lied to, and taken for granted.

    Advice to Management

Since it's too late to fix things, the only advice to management is to enjoy the fruits of those stock options and stock grants that the sweat and hard work of the worker bees at Informatica helped make valuable. I hope those that are laughing to the bank can at least stop for a minute to think about those that aren't rich, who are fearful for their jobs, and are concerned about the company's future under the new ownership.

    Pros

Opportunity for company growth, the people in general, work-life balance, the pay and compensation are good

    Cons

Some great but some horrible low-level managers, especially when "promoted" from being individual performers. Field training is lengthy, boring, and doesn't prepare for the field.

    Advice to Management

When the manager has been an employee for a long time, and is an experienced veteran but a first-time manager, the management team needs to actually teach the guy how to be a manager and leader. Forced into management = bad manager. Also, when transitioning people, the communication from managers to their staff was horribly poor. Need clear written info when people join and leave the teams and organization.

I worked at Informatica full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Loved working at Informatica for many years. It was a place where people were well treated and part of a team. Great solid products, a lot of resources to draw from, has the latest technology in place to perform your job (salesforce.com, Marketo, Work Day, etc) The company even let's you use Facebook during work hours. Whatever devices you need, you just ask and get.

    Cons

Many people have quit in the past 2 years or got fired based on unrealistic work objectives. Informatica is struggling to get passed the $1B mark and is only focused on the financials at the expense of employees. They have shifted from a healthy employee culture to a military style culture exactly like Computer Associate. Management all the way up to senior management are new and have no concept on how to manage employees. Many of them lack education and respect by using intimidation tactics to get the job done or else!!! Many of them are bullies and will yell at you just like a hockey coach would do. Very unprofessional and old fashion way to use scare tactics towards employees thinking they will get the job done. They think they can own you and expect you to work a lot of overtime without any appreciation or compensation. Stay away from Informatica!

    Pros

Pay is great......... Parking is available..... Free gym on site. That's it.

    Cons

People here don't directly communicate. They skirt around issues and have some major egos (this could have just been my department). I remember within my first few weeks, I saw an individual contributor vent to a director about one of the director's direct reports and the director joined in on the attack, and yet when the director talked to the direct report, she acted like it wasn't a big deal and it was just a minor slip-up (and why these people wouldn't close their doors for this is beyond me). I realized after that and after meeting with more people that they don't really care about the product (on the business side) and their "niceness" is actually passive-aggressive. The CEO likes to call out other companies/business leaders negatively during meetings which I think is unnecessary.

    Advice to Management

    Get over yourselves.

Not the Company it once was - Low Pay, High Stress, Legacy Products, Too many Sales Reps.

I have been working at Informatica full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    - Potential to reclaim it's glory if someone takes back control

    Cons

    - Pay is not competitive - Losing to open source competitors and to the mega vendors. We are losing market leadership, fast. - Was once a family, but now sale teams are stressed and not making money. - High turnover - Many once-successful people have left. Many of us are planning to leave if not fixed NOW. - Lots of politics and in-fighting - The board appears to run this company, but it's clear they have no clue what our issues are.

    Advice to Management

Manage needs to: - Innovate. You can't grow organically with the same old ETL, MDM, & PIM. Cloud is low $s. Need to expand in Big Data, BI, Analytics, Business Applications. Take a risk on acquiring new companies! You loss your entrepreneurial spirit. - Improve culture and solve the feeling that we are a number. High pressure from management is not a motivator! - Many of us once-successful sales reps are starving. - There is better pay and more aggressive compensation plans elsewhere, hopefully you see that with those that have left and or will leave. - Provide a reasonable sales quota and coverage. Reps and much of the field team are leaving for better jobs and to make money. - You over-hired reps just to cover revenue goals - this is the definition of stupidity as evidenced in revenue issues. - Who's the leader? We don't see it. What's the plan? - Many of us are planning to leave if not fixed NOW, not next year, now!

    Pros

Enterprise level Integration is a good place to be in despite freebee products out there. Company has a range of products that enable it address multiple market verticals.

    Cons

Toxic work environment. The company is focused on moving 'all' of Engineering & Operations offshore. Lately they have been importing folks from India on 2 yr work visas. Work hours are brutal with no work-life balance. Managers are pathetic with no people skills what-so-ever. New products or ideas are non existent. The good ones have either left or are heading towards the door.

    Advice to Management

    Clean up your act.
