I have been working at Informatica full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Pay and benefits are very good and my immediate management is very good. Pre-Sales management has always worked hard to enable us in our jobs and listen/respond to our issues.

    Cons

Corporate mostly acts as if pre-sales does not exist. Although I personally led the technical side of sales in doubling our number last year no one from corporate ever mentioned my name and in fact credited sales overlays that weren't even involved in deals. At this point HQ seems out of touch with what is happening in the field. Let's hope the new sales management will dig out of the hole created by the last regime.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Create an environment where hard work and quality results are rewarded in more than just the sales team.

I have been working at Informatica full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Informatica has all the tools needed to be an effective employee
    Initial enablement is thorough
Everyone is helpful and pleasant to work with
    Pay is very competitive
So far, this company has impressed me more positively than any other where I have worked.

    Cons

So much enablement I haven't been able to work with customers (Yet!)
Can't think of any others so far

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I'm pretty new. Generally I would say keep doing what you are doing. The only thing I have noticed so far is there seem to be a large number of managers. This may be because so many people have been here a long time and needed to be promoted. Also the managers seem willing to dig in and get their hands dirty so it is not necessarily a negative.

I have been working at Informatica full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Leading technology, great people, decent pay, and good benefits. All coworkers really work as a team and work to help each other be successful, with the ultimate goal of making us all more $$. I'm on a team of incredibly smart indivuals that work great together and have lots of fun, at the same time.

    Cons

As is the case in most any sales organization, the last minute fire-drills and demands for extended work time can get tiring and stressful

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I'd like to see an ongoing employer match to employee charitable contributions.

    Pros

Informatica people are the best to work with! I have been so impressed by the sense of teamwork and the supportive environment as I learned the massive amount of information that's available for my product set.

    Cons

It is difficult to understand where to go within the R&D ranks to get information or to pass along product issues. Feedback is also hard get back from those situations.

I have been working at Informatica full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great company attitude. Leadership is open, honest, and very enthusiastic. Good compensation and benefits. The company was very supportive when I moved and started working remotely after 3 years of employment. Product training, for the most part, is very good. Little to no office politics.

    Cons

Not a huge con, but as a remote employee, I feel moving up in the company will be a challenge. Moving away from the office was my choice, so I cannot knock them too hard for this.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    keep it up!

I worked at Informatica full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Small company culture with a friendly & fun atmosphere. In general the company focuses on execution and getting things done. There is good work life balance and a healthy stream of team building events. Good amount of training and personal growth opportunities available. Flexibility in moving around and relocating to the right team and project.

    Cons

Some amount of saturation in mid-management and at times the decision making has been lethargic that has resulted in loss of momentum. There have been technical missteps around some of the projects over the years and folks have been slow to own up to that and correct them as it requires rocking the boat.

I worked at Informatica as an intern

    Pros

Surrounded by great people and as the company fights to grow at a rapid pace, there should be a lot of work to be done. People are top quality though. Very smart, considerate, and organized. The work-life balance is great as along as you get your work done.

    Cons

Sometimes things are too slow. It does have a slight corporate feel to it and limited resources to help you out in accomplishing your goals. There's been a lot of change in the past few months as well, so there's room for some uncertainty of the future.

I have been working at Informatica full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Fun, friendly, smart and supportive colleagues with very little hierarchical protocols. New and bright office space and plenty of training if you raise your hand.

    Cons

With the rapid growth the company is experiencing you can easily get out of balance with work and life demands. Wearing too many is counterproductive in the long run.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

With the wide range in senior level and entry level people, some mandatory training is in order to close the skills gap and lessen the need to always be coaching.

I have been working at Informatica full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The cloud has sent major sets of data everywhere. A leader in data integration and MDM, the company has a really unique opportunity. Management always trying to do the right and best thing. Very interested in the growth and satisfaction of its people. Open, collegial, team-oriented, committed.

    Cons

The strategy could be clearer, but it seems we are working on it consistently.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Ensure the strategy leaders in product and our executives are aligned for success, then fuel our growth!
