    Pros

    Collaborative culture, strong product leadership

    Cons

The variety of products result in a fragmentation of the customer base. It's hard to describe who Informatica caters to in an organization.

    Advice to Management

    Simplify and focus.

    Pros

People friendly environment. You can make friends from almost every department. Definitely great work life balance.

    Cons

It took over 10 years for the company to change from $200M revenue to $1 billion. Great products however too diversified. Cloud subscription is the key to success.

  3. Great company culture, but your experience is subject to your direct boss!

    Pros

The company does believe in work/life balance and the compensation and benefits are competitive. However, work/life balance is a direct reflection on how your immediate supervisor feels about that. So even though the company does believe in balance, if your manager does not, you won't get that balance.

    Cons

There is definitely opportunities to be promoted at this company as they continue to grow, but your experience will vary based on the competence or incompetence of your direct boss.

    Advice to Management

Clean up the product set and stop trying to be a jack of all trades and master of just a few. Go after the markets you dominate and get rid of the rest of the outlining products!

    I worked at Informatica

    Pros

Great culture, intern events, great people.

The intern program was well organized and they really took care of all of the interns.

Informatica is a great company to work for and I hope that doesn't change as it grows.

    Cons

There wasn't really any real feedback or review at the conclusion of the internship.

    Some the managers weren't accessible.

    Pros

Informatica has a great position in the marketplace and I have never heard a negative word from customers about the solutions. It has a very collaborative environment and full of people who want to win and excel together. All the extended resources are more than ready to help out. They hire very smart and capable people. The work life balance is good and the compensation is very good. Senior management seems to really believe in the company and its future.

    Cons

As the company is transitioning to become a large organization, it has sometimes lost the "smaller company" feel. It was never a small company, but you always felt like your voice was heard and had the environment of a start-up, a large start-up. Many folks come here from large companies and enjoy the smaller company environment. Don't Lose That.

    Advice to Management

As many departments are looking to grow, there needs to be more opportunity for employees rather than looking to the outside to hire. There is a fair amount of promoting from within, but take a closer look at your current personnel who have learned the products, the culture, and are familiar with teams and key player within the company. More promotion from within will reduce the turnover, which seems to be growing in the very recent past.

    Pros

Some of the best things about working at Informatica is the work and family life balance, the ability to work from home when needed, the overall values of teamwork and excellency, and the CEO has a great way of connecting with the employees and communicating the company goals.

    Cons

More time should be spent on reflecting on current processes and discussing the most efficient ways of upgrading current workflow processes. Teams can be small and workloads can become demanding when stretched between a small team.

    Advice to Management

Provide more opportunities for growth and educational growth. Hold more reviews of current workflow processes to determine how to make departments or teams operate more efficiently.

    Pros

The software itself is great and the customer service is excellent, so you are very comfortable promoting it. You work hard, but it is a welcoming culture and easy to feel part of the team.

    Cons

There are a lot of products, so it takes some time to really understand all of them when you first come on board.

    Advice to Management

Accountability is a little confusing at times. It seems like there are multiple people responsible for the same thing. That is of course better than no one being accountable for things, but it can make the process of getting from point A to point B unclear.
