I worked at Infosys full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Infosys is big. Constant reduction of benefits and taking away pay whenever possible is a great way to demotivate.

    Cons

Infosys is TOO big. Micromanaging degrades employee performance. There is no cost of living increase. Promised training, never getting any unless we pay for it ourselves. Preferential treatment for south asian H1B immigrants. American workers are left out of the loop and get all the blame, when projects go awry. Will tell you that you are leading a project, but when you ask for status updates, they do not come in. Later find out they lead the project offshore and blame you for inflated costs and overtime. No European or American company operates in this fashion, unless they bring in Infosys or TCS.

    Advice to Management

You have employees in America too. Maintaining a racial caste system is bad for business, outside of India. Understand there are different cultures in each country you operate in and ramp up hiring local people, at competitive wages. Open opportunities to advance for domestic workers, rather than spending so much on visa's and travel for South Asians, who have no skills, until the locals train them.

    Pros

Good company for freshers..they train them in best of the training facilities..and latest technologies.

    Cons

No Promotions at Project Management Level, Green Card policy is pathetic.you need to beg for green cards and reach to everyone in the top management to get a slot for yourself.

    Advice to Management

Focus more on employees remember they work hard for you and get billing for you. And don't forget your Project Managers ultimately they get all the work done for you without client escalations.

I have been working at Infosys full-time

    Pros

Some non-micro managed work is able to be completed, and then appreciated by the customer.

    Cons

Micro-managing is inbred, into the caste system, that operates the company. Lower level workers are subject to being told what is their priority from 1 to 5 different managers at the same time. No prospects of getting promoted, back anywhere near, the position once held by the client company. With 3 years of stagnant wages and working conditions, it would appear Infosys wants us out, not "we want you to stay with us until you retire", as told during onboarding. Constant influx of foreign "freshers" into roles that are above their skillset, and we, as former client employees, have to guide them, where the documentation they are provided fails.

    Advice to Management

If you truly mean it, when you say you want to reduce attrition, then show it. Stop requiring us to spend thousands of dollars a year, out of our own pocket, on getting our own training, just to stay employed. Return the 3 bonuses we were promised, when we were onboarded. When working in a foreign country (i.e. outside of India), understand the working mentality of that country and adapt, Infosys can succeed with local workers without having to import more freshers to fill gaps created by fed up employees. Also stop sending the e-mail notifications of the "fun" happening at the DCs, in India, when we don't get any chance to attend, or have anything of the sort, occur at our local DC.

    Pros

    Market salary, worked from home

    Cons

Endless bureaucracy! Goals and reviews are a joke. Advancement discrimination unless you're Indian. Cheapskates will penny pinch on travel and often times I didn't get back the full amount of my expense claims. Often, claims took 30-60 days to process. They don't know how to market products in the US--only consulting services. The clincher--when I found out from my health insurance company that my employer had terminated my health insurance effective my last day with the company and hasn't provided notice over 30 days later. If in the US, prepare to be on early morning and late evening calls. Lack of innovation, leadership and focus. I am so glad to gone from this company. Worst place I've ever worked. Infosys sucks!

    Advice to Management

    Stop screwing your employees

    Pros

Buildings and campuses food courts Cannot thing of any other thing edge verve is a sister company. it is good .

    Cons

everything they show you rosy picture when u join . but as u join u relaize nothing is true. you will be given poor projects to wok with . in the name of managed services , there will be no onsites . the problem comes when they try to reduce cost . for them cost = employee .so they will remove him/her from the project and the work which was done by 6 people will be now need to managed by 2 persons . I dont see any growth left in infosys . PLEASE STAY OUT ,. Why do people from job level 6 hardly switch jobs...because they become so incompetent staying there that no new company will take them . You will ahve to work for more than 10 hours though at customer location the policy is 8 hours but when u fill in your Mitime for approval , Mamanger will only approve for 10 hours. You would have to do more of presentation , ms word documents than real technical work as the manager has to give reports to his seniors . daily , weekly, monthly ,quarterly and yearly reports . They have no respect for Indian colleagues . I have seen manager treating them as dirt.

    Advice to Management

change your HR policies ASAP . they are counter p-productive. I have high hopes from Dr. Sikka . He should have come 5 years before. anyways , Better late than never .
